Default Car Audio - Can I transplant my audio system from the 991.2?

Hi Guys,

I was wanting to ask if the door and dash internals for the speakers and tweeter are different to the 991.

Can anyone confirm if the 992 is different and if so how? This is assuming the standard system is ordered.

I am considering the musicar stage 3, but only if I know I can reuse it in the 992 when the GT cars are released.

Thanks

I have a message into Nick at Musicar. If I were to guess, I would say all the systems would be the same. I ordered my current system from them (Morel speakers, Mobridge, Match DSP, JL amp, JL sub). I plan on moving most of the components to my 992. They will just have to reconfigure the harness and speaker mounts. Will order 9 inch Morels for the doors.

where did you locate the sub?

I was considering the 9inch Morels but I don’t know if they will go low enough for me so leaning towards a slim 12 or 10” in the passenger footwell.

My bad. I failed to say I currently have a BMW 550. I have the Musicar trunk sub for my model. It works very well. I will have to sell it though, obviously. As far as the 9inch morels, Nick says they do the job for most people. I have 8 inch woofers under my seats. They sound pretty good with a good amp. The 992 has a smaller cabin, so I think with the right power, the 9 inch morels should do pretty well. However, there’s also the passenger footwell and shallow rear deck sub option. Nick also said, he’s almost certain the 992 will have the same audio system setup as the 991.1/2, but can’t say for 100% until he gets his hands on one. I’ll keep you posted when he does.
