tgcrun - thanks for the acronym translation. In this day and age, it would probably be something like #getlucky. I've never had Schafer but if it's anything like my hometown beer - Natty Bo - I am sure I'll like it, especially if it comes in a 40 like Vin's. I'll pass on the smokes - I am an orthopaedic surgeon...smoking is way bad for bone healing. Gotta practice what I preach!

That’s my thinking as well.

Saw it and felt it last night at our launch event... honestly, I don't see the big deal. It is a non-issue... I only ever use paddles, and I appreciate the cleaner look and less wasted space.

I watched a gt3 video with chris harris recently. He was using the pdk stick to shift as well as the paddles depending on the turns.

Oh well, what does he know.

Perhaps that is exactly the point? If you're a Chris Harris type driver, or if you're in a proper GT3 class racing car, then you might need a PDK type shifter, or better yet, a manual. But for 992 owners, most don't need anything more than full auto or paddles, certainly not for the 95% of the time that you're not on a track.

Personally, I do hope they offer an alternative for clients who do want something else... but I guess that alternative will be the MT

Glad that you didn’t mind it! I’m dying to get a feel for that nubbin’ . So far I’ve seen it but haven’t had a chance to sit inside the car.

I’ve sat in the car. If you don’t ilike it in the photos, you’re not going to like it when you sit in it.

Look like some genius might be right...

Saw this from 992 GT3 thread. This PDK GT3 mule was using a shifter from 992 manual and not a nubbin. We know its a PDK GT3 because there are paddle shifters behind the steering wheel and only 2 paddles on the floor. Although this GT3 is a test mule but at this late stage of development not using a nubbin, it indicates that the new 992 GT3 will get a different shifter.
