Why the hate for the shaver/nubbin/gear selector?

As to the censorship. She didn’t use the anatomical term. The one she used wouldn’t get through. Since people innocently describing the ‘manual controller in a 911 get censored, I didn’t have a hope.
Apologies for the digression. Not really

I can’t tell if you’re joking or not ? If not; she was being funny and not making an assessment on Darths manhood. If you’re serious, he’s a fictional character who was burned to a crisp. So the existence of his “*****” will never be known. Maybe.

I enjoyed your response, though.

I actually was not aware I was supposed to dislike the shifter until I started perusing this forum. It works, I think it looks OK, but it does look like it might break easily.
On a slight aside, new interior pictures of the 2022 Golf R appear to have it sporting the same shifter as our 992s.

who knows why men have to handle some "tools" while driving or drinking beer in front of the TV. I can understand manual cars, but a pdk ... that you use twice per lap ... you don't have to "throw in" anything ...

Ego, that's why. Like sports.
A seemingly neutral topic that enables sheeple to flex around for their otherwise mundane-as-*** lives.
Just like with engine sounds, manual transmissions, and various other useless Porsche options.

Base 992 **** is great. 992 GT3 **** is also great. 991 **** is awful.
Foot in or foot out. Embrace that it's an automatic and free yourself of assumptions about what a drive selector should look like, or pay homage to the manual by duplicating it as closely as possible.
The 991 **** does neither. For drivers using paddles or everyday commuters its way bigger than it needs to be. For people who want to use it to shift, an actual **** like the 992 GT3 is better.
The 992 nub should be standard and the GT3 **** optional across all the variants.
