Looks like the manual doesn't get a cup holder.. As it shouldn't. Looks like you get a little cubby space.. I actually like this a lot more than the PDK interior.

If only they got rid of the Caddy-esq piano black and haptic feedback.. Other than that, you could always drive around wearing nitrile gloves so you don't smudge up the interior.

Thanks for posting the photo! Nice to see the manual in the real interior (only other picture was of a manual in an early mule). Comparing this manual picture to the other PDK pics, it looks like it can still have the cupholder - it's just that the cupholder insert has been removed in this test vehicle.

I think slc4s said it best, piano black trim is different than cheap plastic. The Panamera interior is beautiful, yes there is a lot of piano black trim, but it’s executed very well and looks like a lot of thought was put into the design. The interior of the 992 I sat in looked and felt cheap. Let me put it differently, my 992 C4S Coupe configuration is roughly $150k, there’s no way this interior looks like it belongs in a $150k car.

I agree with the others that it would make sense that this is a GT3 mule. Why else would it have bucket seats? None of the Carrera mules had bucket seats in them. And if it is the GT3, it looks like it may be getting the black hole cup holder front and center, just like the Carrera.

Sometimes to get rid of demand is you make the product crappy and people move on. That way you can put the blame game on someone or something else.

The way they are going, I would not be surprised.
There is not a chance that any Porsche designer would even think that way let alone suggest it, or even worse implement it. The take rate for manual P-cars is high enough to justify that they continue building them, for a LONG time.

This is great news. PDK is not what I hoped for.

Nothing here to indicate this is a GT3. Those are not the 918-style fixed-back buckets; they are leather folding bucket seats that were available on all Porsche sports cars in the US from 2009-2011. With the 981/991 they were discontinued in the US because they don't comply with US regs, but they are still available everywhere else on the globe. Note that leather seat inserts, multi-function steering wheel, and sunroof [switches] pictured were never offered in the 991 GT3. Besides, I expect there would be exterior shots to accompany if this was a GT3...

The cup holder is removable, even on the PDK model.

Amazing how that manual shifter replacing a dumb "luxury couch car" nubbin makes the interior look instantly "911" to a degree no 992 PDK picture has conveyed. It gives me classic 911 vibes which quite a feat considering the 992's drastically changed up interior.

I know, that's how they designed it (almost a necessary gimmick to mask the otherwise huge departure). But when you sit in the new 911, it gives zero feeling of "classic 911." It feels like a tech luxury car to me, with sporty sensibilities.

The shifter in my T is super sexy and I picked piano black over leather upgrade as it looks clean. I have leather dash and steering colum and feel my T has a beautiful look. Silver grey thread and sport tex seats get nothing but wows at car shows and rallys.
🤷🏼*♂️ Next up for me is 992 GT3 manual
992 is gonna be always hated on period. My build was 125k and by the time my new ones comes I take 75-80k and just simply move on. New cars cost money and so I just work hard and pay the price. My Porsche is simply just a car.

Piano black is actually a very cool trim used on super high end cars. The first time I remember running across it was in a new Bentley GT back in 2004 ish. Liked it so much I bought it . . .

I have never thought Porsche interiors were all that. The dash and door panels have always been somewhat blah to me, but who the heck buys a 911 for this? We always purchased because of the way they drove and no one used to ever discuss or complain about the lack luster interiors.

Great improvement of the center console.
