I am pretty sure GT versions will look a lot better and expensive.

Like most of us so far, all my impressions of the 992 are from photos (including your photos). I've taken some photos of my 991.2 and a similar thing seems to happen (especially with some 3/4 views) where it comes out looking weirdly misshapen (see below) - but in person I love the way my car looks from every angle. As much as some of the changes seem troublesome, I really can't wait to see one in flesh.

Big butt?

Tiny tail?

The 992 will gain broad acceptance for its exterior visual appeal as a 911. The interior has major ergonomic and esthetic issues that Porsche will most assuredly address.

The new flares are a strong point of the 992.

Oh and Tycho is already back. The Porsche sales team couldn't resist the opportunity.

Describing a $150K car as "not as bad" is unfortunate. I'm trying really hard to like the looks of this new 911 and just can't get there. The back end is just awful in my opinion. I've been driving 911's since 1980 and, except for the 996 years, I've loved every new iteration. I had planned to slide into a 992 next year when my current lease is up but, unless I get shock therapy, that's not going to happen. Guess I'll be driving my crappy old 2018 Carrera for a long time!!

Unless you didn't like the wide body to begin with and felt the standard body Carrera was wide enough as it is. If you're in that camp, the flares are just another negative in a relatively long list of negatives. When I bought a C2S a few years ago, I debated back and forth about the GTS and just couldn't fall in love with the wide body, especially from the 3/4 front view. From that view, the bulging flares eliminate the view of the tail/body countours and just don't integrate well IMO.

The angle in that picture is exactly what I'm talking about. It looks like a slender 911 with big fender flares slapped on the rear.

This is an interesting pic with anti-roll bars at the back? GTx version?

By not as bad, I meant that it's not as bad as the pictures would make it out to be.

It actually looks decent.

But again, it's hard to judge in a show environment, where you can't even see the car without people walking in front of you. Plus it's on a 6" tall stand, which elevates it to an odd angle.

Bottom line...I hedge my bets. I really disliked it in photos but first blush in the flesh, under less than ideal conditions, it doesn't look bad at all. Looks...like a 911.
