Default In person impressions...not as bad

Saw the 992 today at the Houston Auto Show. It’s definitely better in person. The rear end doesn’t look as bulbous. Even in high contrast Yellow / black. It’s not as Panamera like as the pictures show. It was hard to take a really good look. People were all over the car. Show was crowded.

Interior...looks ok. Definitely better than Panamera / Cayenne. Car was not open. Dash layout not as bad as I thought. Seats look chunky and Audi-like. Have lost the Porsche delicate feeling. Sad. Look comfy. Sport Tex looks good.

Car had the carbon roof. Looked ok. I like body colored roof on my 911’s though, thanks. One reasons I’m glad my cab is black. Same reason I’m not a fan of the glass sunroof.

Rear third brake light is a mess. Looks WORSE in person.

21” rears are too big, IMO. Wife agrees.

Front end....looks good. Headlights are great. Rounder than 991. Hood crease looks good. Square hood corners do not. Looks unresolved. The seam needs to line up with the hood.

Lower rear bumper doesnt look bad. Exhaust ports are not an issue for me. Look good in this PSE trim. There is a gap between the metal finisher and the fascia. Makes it look more realistic. Much better than MB and Lexus.

Black panel between windindow and grille will be scratch city. This car was all swirled out. Get it PPF’d.

Looking forward to sitting in it.

992 is beautiful. Enough said.
But, there is always a BUT
The rear badge is messy, 911 Carrera 4S. Carrera 4S looks fine but 911 looks like squeezed in

I agree, if I spec'd it out, I'd just have 911 on there. I personally like it and they brought it out on Forza Horizon 4.. Damn thing is now my favorite car on that game.

There is more to a car than the drive itself. The 911 is, by all means, an evolving work of automotive art. Some here on RL simply enjoy looking at their car and/or sitting in the car without the key in the ignition. Part of the 911 experience is the visual and the tactile - both of which can be appreciated with the key nowhere to be found.

It is a bit busy, yeah, but I love that old school 911 font - and I was very happy to see that the configurator DOES have the Model Designation Changed to "911" option available (and for $0). That's the route I'd take.

Sb2020 - Thanks. I see you are new here. Welcome! Looking forward to your comments going forward but a little word of advice - don't mess with STG. It won't end well.

Oh boy, this might get interesting very quickly. I am sorry if I set off an RL conflagration.

i have to say i think the 992 styling is very nice
wide body and cleaned up lines
i really like the rear end, front looks ok but a little clunky with the squared off lower grilles
i guess relative to other modern sports cars the 992 is still relatively light, but the reported weight gain is disappointing

lololol!!!

I actually laughed out loud at this one. Are you seriously shilling the 992 with these multiple accounts? You're not even trying to hide it.

Are you someone from Porsche whose unwinding on the internet? Did your father or relative work on the design team? What's the deal here because I'm genuinely interested in knowing. How can someone push so hard for a car thats not even out yet?

I'm truly fascinated by this.
