Porsche 911 (992) FIRST ONBOARD LAP ! Hockenheimring with the 911 Carrera S 2019

Sounds suspiciously NA. Is this some kind of sound symposer? Driver keeps revs pretty high like an NA car, and the car also looks very well composed. It’s promising if this is really a carrera S

Actually....when I watch the pre release testing videos at Nurburgring of the Carrera S, from the outside of the car it sounds like a vacuum cleaner. Now this video shows a completely different sound inside the car. The cabin noise does not really sync with what I'm hearing from the exterior of the car on the previous testing videos. They've been doing simulated engine amplification in many cars, I just hope this isn't a case where the sound is electronically being piped through the audio system. It would be much better if they stuck with a sound symposer/acoustic channel to transmit the engine noise into the cabin as they have done before...a direct acoustic link between the cabin occupants and the engine to pick up induction noise and load dependent sounds. If this turns out to be electronic amplification, that will be very disappointing and it's a detail I don't think we will know until some time from now. I really hope porsche has worked to provide an authentic solution.

I don't think it sounds vastly different from the 991.2S, the camera/mic is far back in the car and not very good when you hear how it sounds when they actually talk. It's missing some part of the sound and amplifying what's left.

The 992 haters are hilarious: "Oh that sounds really good, there's no way that Porsche improved the sound of the PSE, the only logical conclusion is that Porsche paid Hans Zimmer to sit in the rear seat of the car with a Casio keyboard so that he could play Inception horns as the car changed gears so that it sounds better. There's simply no way the exhaust just sounds better."

If you find the truth that hilarious then so be it.... There's no way the 992 sounds that good inside naturally and outside it won't sound like much more than a muffled fart while vacuuming . It's not hate , just reality.....
