All the 992 exhaust tips are real. They are just not connected. What's the big deal?
Our current 991.1 tips are not completely connected either.

I totally agree. On my 991.2, the exhaust tips are simply decorative pieces attached to the exhaust pipes with brackets. If the 992 tips are fake, then so are the 991's. As I've said in a previous post, if you glue a toupee to your head, it doesn't magically become your real hair.

I direct your attention to the demonstrations in France that have been on going for ~ 1 month. .
Neither of which excuse fake tips or fake pipes

Sounds reasonable and I bet that's global. The best selling vehicle in the world is the Ford F150. It'll probably take an extra decade for the US to get to that 50% number.

I have a '13 ML350 and I have looked at the newer models and have found evidence of cost cutting on these as well, so it's not just Porsche.
A couple of examples on one feature:
The newer models have a mesh for the pop-up sunroof wind deflector, my car has a solid diffuser-like deflector that certainly won't rip or wear out.
The inside sliding sun shield is also a solid piece, some of the newer models have a fabric piece that spools out, not as simple as the older design but I'm sure cheaper.
I wrote in another thread that aspects of the 992 appear to mimic the Panamera. I see that others have made similar observations.
It could be that Porsche has decided to target a different customer for the these 992s and that if you want the harder core vehicles, you're going to have to go to the GTs. What they're like remains to be seen.
I for one will be looking at my "real" exhausts and gauges when I take delivery of my 991.2 on 1/23. I wouldn't purchase a 992 in its current state.
