992 now has a version of BMW's "Bangle Butt" which alienated their loyalists for about ten years a decade ago but secured new customers in new markets for BMW and created more overall sales....good for Porsche VW strategy in the long term, new loyalists can be recruited with this new design as BMW did....

I also think the touch button design direction in the interior is an *** backwards approach to switchgear design.

Not literally but figuratively with primary effect on Porsche existing customers with new customers deciding whether they like it or not.........like BMW hanging on to some loyal customers and securing new ones with the new Jetson's design approach....

Nah. Looks to me like more power, better handling, updated 991 good design that looks back to 993 and forward at the same time. I'd guess it will be another winner with even less whining than occurred with the 997 to 991 transition.

As an existing customer I cannot agree.

That's okay.....there is always yes and no to liking designs...very subjective but this 992 has created numerous negative design comments about the rear end from quite a few people already...the 991 was so sweet, it spoiled us all..

my first reaction is they really did a very nice job on the rear end. a notable change for sure, but i really like it... quite a statement - broad, modern, clean
to me the front is evolutionary and a bit boring - maybe with better light it will show differently - the squared off air inlets under the headlights are clunky to my eye. having said this i get that they are trying to go with a bold horizontal line as a key theme in both the front and rear fascias, and that parallelism is appreciated - unlike some cars that seem like one person did the front, another the profile, a third the rear

I'm sure the 992 will grow on me with time but for now, I'm super happy I decided to move forward on a 991 GT3 and put the 992 purchase off until the new GT3 launches in 18-24 months. I will definitely be looking forward to seeing the official reveal at the LA auto show in a few days. There is no doubt this car will be an improvement and most of the haters will eventually convert over but I'm just no longer chasing having to have the latest from Porsche when it comes to the Carrera. Those that are willing to wait a year or two will have a lot more to choose from in terms of trims and options.

i like the 992. The exhaust looks cleaned up.
I feel someday the 911 will need to go back to the classic gauge, dash layout last seen in the 993. For a retro look.
