I'm not digging the styling. It seems busy with unnecessary lines on the hood. The bumper to hood and front quarter panel lines look messy. The front scoops look too big. There is something different about the angle of the headlights to the front fascia that makes it look almost like an old slant nose or 996 instead of the more classic look. The 991 has a clear observable change in height from the lights to the hood that mirrored the classic look that you could see from the outside as well as in the driver's seat whereas the 992 has the lights flat and level with the hood. It moves the car away from the classic look. And, I don't much care for the rear spoiler. It makes what's underneath look like an unfinished part of the car that should not normally be open for view. Frankly, I didn't much care for the GT3 Touring look for the same reason. And, lastly, the common rear tail light theme light bar that came from the Mission E that is going across the entire platform is really, if not entirely, unnecessary. These cars are not electric vehicles that need the light saber / laser line look they were trying to sell with the Mission E.

It's almost like they decided to make the 992 more complicated by adding angles and, removing the simple beautiful curves that existed with the 991. Overall, I'm really not happy with the design team and, their supervisors efforts with the 992. This iteration takes the 991 chassis and just clutters it up. What will the 992 GT3 look like starting with this base chassis? What do you think?

This appears to be the bridge to a new age of all digital and all electric vehicles. The worst design element to me is the loss of analog gauges in the cockpit. They are only leaving the Tach, which looks out of place to me with digital gauges surrounding it.

I agree with your comments on the hood (looks Panamera-like) and tail (Mission-E).

Luckily, the 911 Silhouette still exists and I'm sure they will keep NA engines for this iteration, but they are forced to move in a direction that I'm not thrilled about. Digital and Electric.

I think after the reveal people will feel the opposite...the 992 improves on the 991 like the 997 improved on the 996.

I've spent some time with an undisguised prototype, inside and out, and I would not buy a 991 Carrera at this point. It is going to look old very, very soon.

The whole Porsche family having the connecting light thing is logical design dynamic but the execution is not attractive on the 992. They have used the connecting light in the past on 993 and 996 C4Ss but execution was better.

Headlights lay flatter like the 993 as mentioned in several car magazine spy shots and look okay.

Agree that analog tach next to digital is a mistake as they went half pregnant which doesn't work. Tried to keep connection to the past.

Piano black surfaces look nice but daily use will not be practical from a looking clean perspective .

Car looks bulky from the back as the horizontal light treatment with wide fenders is just too much. Looks less distinctive than past models.

Spoiler looks awkward too....

I guess we will all changes our minds in a few years when they are everywhere and think they are the most beautiful iteration yet))

If you saw undisguised prototype and thought that it looks like an advance from 991 in every direction, I am pretty sure you are right.
My guess is based on styling cues from camouflaged prototye and I see 992 adopting frunk of 996 with coupe styling of current Panamera.
I think current 991 looks amazing (esp 991.1) and would be pleasantly surprised if Porsche can outdo it's styling.
