Ok so now we know Pietro is from Italy. Hopefully Porsche corporate doesn't track him down too easily and lock him up in a basement or something.

Nice Pietro, where are you from in Italy? I had the chance to configure one as well, with and early delivery in February. I choosed also the sport seating + memory pack, the full leather dashboard and carbon details. I am worried about how the dolomite silver could looks like, hope not a rhodium silver lookalike! 😖

Anyway I got told that the reveal will be in LA: maybe they were lying? 🧐

Can we clear something up?

Are you talking about the car being presented at Geneva but the info available in LA? Similar to how the Macan was announced online and then debuted in Paris? Otherwise, the timing seems off.

Not pointing the finger at anyone, but don't understand how the debut can be Geneva when every motoring journalist with connections to Porsche has said that the 992 will debut in LA.

How does that discrepancy work? We're talking about people who have physically sat in the car and have been under embargo. I highly doubt Porsche would tell them it's going to be LA and then fail to update them before the embargo expired. Strange.

Rennteam is another, smaller forum that skews more European and toward those who are "in the know" and less toward nouveau riche morons who have ruined this forum by asking questions like "oMg GuYs ~~~ if i bye a new Porsh GT3 what will it be worth in 20 year? Can u drive it in the rain??"

Whoopsy is a member here too

The articles that all magazines have published this week are aged June 2018 .
At beginning of September Porsche had to change plans for 992 debut , and they postponed the debut to March, with European deliveries on May 2018. Dealers have configured their 992 launch cars at the end of September.

LA Show will see the debut of GT4 (4.0 NA 420cv) and GT4 CS (that some teams have already ordered for next season)

I also highly doubt that. Based on my information which come directly from someone inside Porsche, the (final prototype) 0-series 2 ended mid October and SOP (start of production) started end of October. All components are final and nothing will be changed anymore.

It wouldn't make sense to invite every automotive journalist to drive the last four 0-series 2 cars and let them write about their experience, half a year prior to the world premier. Plus people like August Achleitner (Mr. 911 himself), who amongst others drove all of the 0-series 2 cars, would mention the L.A. Autoshow to debut the 992 world premiere.

I don’t know why my last night post has been cancelled (together with the 992 accessories list posted by Pietro), but I got the chance to reserve one of the first demostration car arriving at the dealer in February and got confirmed by the dealer itself that presentation will be in LA at the end of November. It would not be a fair thing for them to ask me money to reserve a car (3 days ago) arriving in February that will be revealed in March!

My SA told me L.A. when we were discussing my decision point in time for whether to order a 991 or 992. It will be close as the last 991 allocations will be tough to get.

Of course, we don't know how much of this is circular reporting.....
