Default Feeling different

So, I have had my 992 Turbo S for a little over 8 months - 5 months of driving weather - and I have decided to sell my vehicle back to the dealer. This is my 2nd Turbo S (991.2 TTS and now the 992.1 TTS) plus a 997.1 Turbo. Something was off. I really enjoyed my previous 2 Porsches but this one just didn’t excite me at all. Maybe it’s that I am deep into growing a startup, hanging with my 9 and 7 year old but something was just off. I tuned the car, put on a JCR exhaust but nothing. Life is weird - I used to be really into the local Porsche scene but now - I could care less. Hopefully the spark returns. Anyone have the same feelings? Anyways…Wishing all of you the best.

Cars are just cars. A life that revolves around cars is incomplete.

Had the same happen to me with watches tbh.

Re 911, how about doing some track driving or canyon/mountain spirited driving, perhaps this will bring some excitement back. It's so impressive how capable turbos are on track. Or swap for a gt3/touring?

Car shows like Luftgekuhlt are also nice/inspiring, you could involve your kids as well.

The GT3 Touring is an interesting idea. Maybe rowing the gears will bring something back. I found myself just taking buddies out to show them launch control but after the drama - nothing. It’s getting close to the end of the driving season here in Alberta. Maybe will find a Touring this winter.

I feel somewhat the same way. In Normal mode the car is quiet, PDK is so good you cannot really feel the gear changes and it accelerate like a scalded cat, almost feels like a soulless ELECTRIC car. My previous Porsches were manuals and peaky(Tq tiny then bags of Tq - exciting) and my last car, a Demon was noisy, jerky and had limited traction, seamed to want to kill me at the drop of a hat. I guess this is progress and Teutonic engineering. Not planning to sell any time soon though.

That's why nobody drives this in Normal mode, silly! Set up Individual with Sport, Auto Start/Stop off, Sport exhaust and comfort chassis and drive that bad boy. TTS is one of the best cars ever built and a supercar you can daily, imo. Make it fun and enjoy.

I never drove in Normal. I am not sure it’s the best car ever built - I loved my 991.2 Turbo S. Maybe I’m older and the car speaks to me less. No idea. Anyways. Good luck all.

@OP, are you in the car with the kiddos at all? My priorities have definitely shifted like you and including my toddlers on once mundane chores became real bonding time. The best is when they ask me why I'm going so slow.

But what do I know? I kicked their a**es out and got a touring.

My 9 and 15 year old sons love the car. A bit disappointed I got rid of it. I think this will pass - as noted above - a GT3 Touring manual might do the trick,

I’ve been feeling this way all season. My boys are 5 and 7, and we just take it to the pool, and that’s about it. All of my friends are also married, and have kids the same age. We’d much rather spend time with our kids than go to every C&C meet.

I'm willing to be that once your kids grow up and move out you'll be back.

Saw a pic of your car at euro CC, I might stop by there one day. (Wednesday, unless it was the other guys with similar spec)

i am just the opposite, I can’t wait to get in the car and feel the power, torque, the handling, turbo whistles, etc etc. love driving it!
