Default Defective front and rear windows

I've been dealing with the delays caused by the banned Gateway module on my new order - and now this - potentially impacting my 992 Turbo S

So…. Take it to the shop after you get it or ask them to look at it during PDI.

I have light weight glass it’s been fine. The back window has a tiny bit of distortion in a couple small areas, it’s minor.

This is a 2021 - odd that it has taken so long to report a possible issue - not sure I want to mess with a potential swap of front and rear glass - "If it ain't broke don't...." Guess I'll take it in and see what they have to say.

Ahh I get it now.

I wouldn’t mess with it unless you hear wind whistling.

I think I read in the GT3 light weight glass thread that some panes popped right out of the car.

However it would be nice to get a new free windshield?? Mine is micro-pitted to hell already.

I think my main question has to do with the structural integrity of the roof - if the bonding is compromised there could be a real issue in an accident. BTW - I put an Exoshield window film on - really has prevented chips and pitting so far. Oh well - just another issue to sort along with the defective TPMS sensors that all have to be replaced as well.

^^ Yes, I never thought about that re, structural. I am thinking if its sealed and there is no whistle noise, its OK? I might give the dealer a call... I wouldn't mind a new front.

Re your exoshield, how is the view out of it, I have heard it distorts the view?

WAIT! Defective TPMS?? I have never heard that one. I had a hard time getting mine to reset and read the tires after installing new, now yesterday the driver rear was flashing yellow saying add air like it was completely empty but it was fine? Am I having this TPMS issue?

Here is some more info with affected models, years and there is something about the airbags won't go off, not sure why, but that is a bit concerning.

The view out the Exoshield is primo - no more cringing every time I hear a pebble hitting the windshield - will always use that film going forward. The TPMS sensors were the wrong ones for my Turbo S - they report absurd levels of pressure - all 4 to be replaced.

So I called the dealer to ask about the TPMS and they said nothing, but they did say that my '23 was on this LW glass bulletin and to bring it in for that.

Also, a bulletin about the subwoofer or the driver.... Not sure what that is about.

I emailed the dealer to ask for further info on the glass, what is involved and what they are testing for etc.

my windshield has adhesive coming out on the top. It looks like a sloppy job.
