I don’t understand the logic either.. if the cars hold their value isn’t that an awesome thing for everyone!?

Not very often you can buy a car and not take a washing on it..

Now if you’re hoping prices drop so you can afford one, well that’s a different story…

Thinking about stepping into one, but dealers seem to be keeping listed prices propped up but anyone strike a deal on one lately? Wondering what they are actually trading at.

There seems to be a bit of divergence now. While TTS can be had at MSRP with some legwork, the waiting lists are still very long. Might take a year or longer to get to the bottom of those lists. At the same time used cars 2-3 years old are still being listed at higher than MSRP. Here is a current listing on BAT

As long as 2 year old cars are selling above MSRP, hard to say market is softening much. One dealer told me a few months ago that as long as used prices stay up, new deals will be hard to come by. A Texas dealer has a wait list of 65 people for TTS! Not sure how many will buy when they get a call, but that is 2-3 year long wait.

I’ve usually had good luck negotiating better prices in the winter as sports car sales tend to slow down in the northern and mid-west region, especially convertables, I’m down south and sometimes during the winter if I can purchase cars in the northern area at better prices than I could here for a comparable optioned out car then I pull the trigger, factoring in transport of course; even for an all-season car like the TTS. Good luck and happy hunting!

MSRP was 244K. Sold for 230K. 2021 model, 6 K miles. This is a retail transaction. Seems consistent with the wholesale prices.

When cars have a 1 to 2 years waiting list, there is little seasonal negotiation advantage IMO.

I sold my $247K sticker car to a dealership for $230K, owned it for 2 years. Wasn't having fun with it anymore, just oo fast to ever really get on it on public roads. $500/month. Amazing. Ordered a T with MT. Can't wait.

Interesting change of pace and car. I'll bet your one of the only ones in the country to go from a Turbo S to a T with a manual transmission. Honestly, it sounds like total fun!

I lust for the Turbo S. I’m being patient for my allocation. #1 at my dealer and waiting for the call. Weather sucks right now anyway but I know by March I’m gonna have major withdrawals.

However I nearly pulled the trigger on a chalk GT3 touring a few weeks ago. The GT3 Touring is probably my favorite if I’m honest.

And yet this 2023 TTS will sell over MSRP.

Because it's a fantastic, highly desirable build with an amazing interior that not too many people order! Sweet car, I'd love that one, as would many other people. Not much of a premium to get it and no waiting a year or 2 or.... never being able to get an allocation.
