PPF on Lights

On my old car around the 5 year mark, the PPF on the headlights started to get frayed and was coming off. I could literally pull the PPF off the headlights myself with some moisture and little heat but i had a detail shop do it and they came off with no issues. I think the PPF damaging headlights issue is overblown. I believe it's how you remove them that makes a difference. if PPF was going to damage headlights i would think after 5 years it would do so. I PPF headlights on new car and signed a waiver with shop.

Detailing dynamics long island refused; said on 991 was fine. They said it caused damage on a 992 and paid for the lights so won’t do it again. I asked a few times but now the lights are naked!
