Default Why are there so few Turbo's

I took delivery of a Turbo non S nearly two years ago.
Have Porsche effectively stopped making this model to maximize revenue through just making the S ?
What's the story?

For me, I was going to select many items that were optional on the Turbo and standard on the S that made the price difference much closer.

Beautiful car! Is that Agate Gray or Aventurine Green?

I think it was hard to get Turbo allocations due to the demand for the S and they obviously make more on the S, so that model was pushed more.

I suspect that the price of either the "Turbo S" or the "Turbo" surpass a "Tipping Point" where price shopping isn't really a big deal.

Agreed with all the above. Many potential buyers that are this price point want the S badge on the back, the features of the S, the panache of having the S, the lack of regret with "only" getting the Turbo, the top of the line 911 non GT car, etc.

this.

Turbo S buyers don't care about saving 20k to get a turbo. My first turbo was just a turbo and I regretted it the second it was delivered. 3 years later have a turbo S

I just got my 24 Turbo 2 months ago. I specifically wanted a Turbo instead of an S. Porsche Houston only gets 2 Turbo allocations a year. The main reason for getting a Turbo is that I didnt want carbon brakes or center locks, and I didnt want to pay a premium for the same car with less HP. I bought the Turbo to tune, and it didnt make sense to get an S when I was going to tune the Turbo and make it faster than an S. Now with the car tuned and a full exhaust I have no regrets, and no one has said anything about it being "Just a turbo"

That's probably a good argument in favor of the "Turbo". I don't believe you can delete the Carbon Brakes on an "S" order.

Turbo has smaller turbos.

if you’re going to upgrade turbos and don’t want carbon brakes, the turbo would be the way to go.

the carbon brakes are great though.

I wanted a Turbo in the first place as IMO there is little difference between TT and TTS, at least the things I care about. I bought the TT because of how the Turbo looks, which I always lusted after since I was a kid, esp the side vents. De-badged, with black callipers and centre locks it's near indistinguishable. Over the moon with it.

Also it was way easier for me to get a Turbo as everyone wanted an S when I was ordering. Not the case now here in Europe as there are loads of Turbo/S sitting in showrooms at MSRP. Wonder if 992.2 will bring more differences between TT and TTS
