Default Thoughts and Opinions Appreciated regarding Used 21 TTS Cab

Apologies up front for being that guy, but I really can't make up my mind about my current situation.

I have a 23 GTS Cab that I spec'ed and bought new and has about 2k miles on it. I started looking at finder out of sheer boredom the idea of trading up to a TTS cab manifested itself.

I found a 21 TTS cab with around 9k miles on it with a sticker of $250. I like the options. Dealer is giving me $185 for mine (5k more than sticker) and sales price for theirs is $225.

So this is what I apologized for earlier cause I'll be asking about depreciation: If my only concern was which car would I lose less money on, which car should I pick?

Help a brother brainstorm. Thanks.

Keep your car man. TTS will not equate to more happiness or enjoyment.

I've followed your thread on the 992 subforum

Pro:
1)mods carry over
2)added AWD stability for inclement weather
3)~ 740whp with a flash and exhaust
4)bragging rights
5)last of the non-hybrid TTS
6)delta of $40k is actually quite good considering the '24 TTS cabs are high $200's if not $300k

Cons:
1)possibly worse depreciation, possibly not
2)added weight - may or may not feel
3)PCM from 21 may or may not be updated to color icons

All great points above.

I moved from a 991.2 GTS to a 992 TTS and was shocked at the difference in most everything, I realize a lot of the differences were from 991.2 to 992 generation but a lot of them were because the TTS is so much more refined, the GTS is more raw then the TTS.

You need to test drive the TTS to ensure you’ll be happy with the move, preferably not just around the block but for an hour or two.

1. Yea. Hard to predict but looking at 991.2 TTS cabs for sale now, im getting avg price of 150k with decent miles. Im sure the model change to 992 has drastically impacted those prices but man 75k down the drain in a few years would be a hard pill to swallow. I don't think I could lose that much with the GTS right?

3. PCM is not that big of a deal for me. Haven't even set up home link in the GTS.

Test drove a coupe. Honestly, I'd be happy with either one. Only concern is: Is having the apex predator (stole that from @alin2 ) worth the possible depreciation.

Your situation of trading the 23 GTS to a 21 TTS is about the narrowest gap you're going to see as far as upgrade price. Even if it sounds far-fetched it is in a way the most financially advantageous situation that would be possible

$40k to get up to a TTS sounds pretty reasonable, if it is spec'd as you'd like. And $225k for a '21 TTS Cab sounds about right.

I think you will be disappointed after the first couple months. But I’ve been there, sometimes you have to learn things firsthand. Not worth the $50k loss to me, having done it before.

like most “advice” threads on RL though, you’re likely just looking for confirmation of what you want to do. Which i have no beef with.

enjoy either way

So you're saying I'll lose more with the TTS if I go through with it? I really don't wanna learn firsthand. Hahaha.

car markets are normalizing
so higher priced cars in general depreciate more than lower priced cars
I had a 992 C4S that I replaced with 992 TTS . Completely different beast and worth it

yes but for him to jump to a 24 cab it would be +100k or more. Low mileage 21 would be the most fiscally conservative (lol?) move if he's going to pull the trigger (ten bucks says he does - its his second thread!!!)

Right on the button. It's like you know me and how frugal I try to be. Haha.

After a lot of thought and input from you guys (especially Breen) I'm 90% in the not gonna do it camp.

It's just too fiscally irresponsible. I'd rather lose 50-75k on alt currencies. My ego isn't worth that much.
