Well there you go. Your car does not have the 2023 cat calibrations that cause all these issues. So saying you have cats and no CEL without this context may confuse others. I'm still waiting to hear a 2023 TTS without CEL but with sport cats and no tune.

What design differences are believed to have potential to prompt a code in a '23?

We have no idea. All we know is ECU in 2023 cars is way too sensitive and a CEL is 100% guaranteed. The only system that I havent seen to be proven that gives or doesnt give CEL is the new Soul system.

2022 and 2021 also have CEL. it is 992 platform issue. Just saying in the event someone thinks 2022 excludes them from CEL. 100 or 200 cell usually triggers P0420/P0430/P050A take your pick from any of those codes. Seems to be random too.

Now I'm curious. So, hypothetically... If one particular exhaust combo throws no codes on a '22, does that give some degree of confidence that particular combo will PROBABLY not throw codes in a '23? Or, is it irrelevant because it's a random occurrence, regardless of combo and/or model year?

When I bought, I saw a couple members with a combo that didn't throw codes, and bought similar, with similar results. I'm simply curious if this theory no longer applies, from 992.1 to 992.2..

Replaced the OEM sport exhaust with FabSpeed 200 cell cats and Akrapovic slip-on race line cat back.

No drone with Soul Cat-bypass and great improvements in sound. As others have said, you will need a tune to disable the emission code. Bonus is you will gain 100hp

I've had both versions on my car and both versions triggered O2 sensor CEL. No biggy, as they clear fast and easy with any inexpensive code reader.

That said, both John and his crew at Soul are A1 to deal with and produce excellent products.

Again, I dont think there is a proven sport cat version that wont trigger CEL. Also as per M Engineering, every single cat/header aftermarket combo loses power and doesnt gain anything and stock headers are the best when it comes to power.

Maybe best sticking with cat back exhaust.

Can you please point to the source of this info? It's very unusual for cat removal to cause any power loss in a turbo engine.

No way leaving cats on is better for power on any car. Fake news.

^ The problem with running with your CEL on (if he decides to decat but not to tune) is that you never can tell if the CEL is on just due to the missing cats, or some other reason.

So if you decat, you have to pair it with a tune (plus you get the huge power gains)
