Default Reflash or not . Dealer service.

Hey all .

Need to take the car in for annual service today and get a couple small items dealt with, Car has high flow cats and a mtune. I am wondering if the dealer will care about the tune? Or should I reflash the car back to the stock tune prior to taking it in?

Thanks

Reflash before dealer visit. Dealers are required to note any modifications to the car. Exhaust and cats is one thing but tune is a major engine mod and will void your warranty. It takes just few minutes to return the car to stock tune.

For what it is worth, a tech at a local Porsche dealership told me that detecting a tuned ECU is next to impossible.

If your dealer doesn't know, and you want a warranty, then put back the stock tune before going to the dealership. I don't hide that fact, but they probably know just looking at my turbo's it's anything but stock

Depends on the dealer. In Houston we like to party so my dealership will sell you a tune and have the service department install it. Everyone at the dealership with a 911 has it tuned and they flat dont care.

…except when it’s your car that needs an engine warrantied.
