Question To grill or not to grill

Read several threads on front radiator protection grills but is there any real world evidence that our radiators are truly in danger during normal use of our cars. Had anyone lost a radiator due to a rock strike? Are these grills really necessary?

Picked up something on the road (stone, screw?) that took out the radiator on my '18 TTS a couple of years ago. Thankfully about a mile from home. Flat beaded to dealer next day. $3K repair.

If you ever clean the radiator area you'll be disgusted to see what accumulates in there. I'd do it just for the sake of my ADD

The 992 Turbo has a plastic grille in front of the central radiator. It's just so close to the radiator and follows the contours of the fins that it's hard to see, but it's definitely there. The side radiators are covered by shutters, so also mostly protected. I installed additional grilles in the 991.2 Turbo but will not in 992 - seems not needed.

Suncoast rennline. The bumper has to come off, but they look OEM. I can add a photo when I’m free.

nice, i like that better than zunsport which sits in front of the body pieces and is only held down with bendable tabs.

I just ordered these same grilles. Do you know where I can find the info for the front bumper removal? Also, I have a front camera and night vision. It looks like I have to trim for those. I didn't see your whole bumper but did you have to deal with that too?

you may not have to trim for night vision. I installed the Zunsport version and it covers the night vision camera. Camera functions as if the grill isn't there.
