Does anyone buy a regular Turbo?
So, i currently own a .1 RS and looking to replace it with a Turbo. I don't want carbon brakes and center locks though, so it seems easy to just choose the Turbo. Does anyone else feel this way and any idea what the ratio of regular Turbo to Turbo S is?

I bought a regular Turbo instead of the S.
Back in 2021 when I put down my deposit, the wait time for the regular Turbo was shorter. I was #1 on the waitlist for the regular Turbo. All the waitlists for the S at nearby dealers had several people already. (I ended up waiting almost exactly 1 year for it to arrive.)
In reality, it would be extremely rare for me to use all the power of the regular Turbo. In other words, the extra power of the S would not mean much to me personally, for the way I drive. And I won't be tracking the car. My prior car was a Cayman S, and I almost never floored its gas pedal.
I have the car for about 8 months now, and am happy with my decision. No regrets at all, in terms of not getting the S.

Drifting
Doesn't seem very popular. Probably 5 to 1 in Canada...
I believe its mostly the same except for smaller turbos on the NON S.

You can also opt for the non center locks or 5 lugs in the build so center locks at least is not an issue anymore on the S. There are vendors now with replacement steels and matching pads and you keep the yellow calipers for those that track. There really isn’t a reason to not get the S anymore other than the delta between the 2 in pricing.

"Regular" Turbo driver here...
Got allocation right away...that was in October 2020. Its a lot of car also zero regrets. I daily drive in 4 seasons so steel brakes and 5 lug wheels just make sense.
The cost difference went towards titanium exhaust and 3-peice wheels. Just the way I like it.
If you feel the need for more power down the road..M-Engineering eliminates any performance delta.

Three Wheelin'
Base turbo owner here. I figured the incremental price increase of the turbo-S over the the base turbo was not worth it to me, plus it forced me into two options I did nor want: PCCB and PDCC. Very happy with mine, it serves as my 4-season daily driver as well as my track car (~25 days/season). Wonderful dual use car.

I have never seen a 992 Turbo
I have seen multiple 992 TTS
not sure why
it seems Turbo were more common in the 991 gen as I have seen them more commonly than 991 TTS

I was on an allocation for a S, and the dealer called with an extra immediate 3-week window to order a Turbo. This was ~10-1-22. The car was built on 10-23-22 and delivered on 12-2-22. The base MSRP is $182,900 which was about the quote on a 2021 S.
My car arrived with center locks which must be standard in 2023. I ordered five options and paid $1450 for delivery and the $1000 gas guzzler tax. The S would have been $33,000 more for power that I'd never use.
It's a great car for sure. It's also the nicest interior that I've ever experienced.
