Upgrading to heated steering wheel... is this possible?
I'm considering changing my steering wheel out with one that has contrast stitching that matches the rest of the interior. The one that I've found has the heated steering wheel option, which my Turbo S does not currently have.
Is this something that I can easily swap out and that feature will be available? Or, can I swap the steering wheel and just not use the heated option? Meaning, will everything else still work fine but I won't be able to heat the steering wheel?
Thanks for any info around this.

I have never seen a turbo s without heated wheel, what steering wheel did you get not to have this? But to answer your question I am sure the wiring is there, may want to check with you shop or dealership to comfirm

That would be great if I have one already… will make a nice plugnplay swap!
UPDATE: Yes, I do have the heated steering wheel! Just got back home and jumped in, and sure as pit, there's a heated option. Guess now my only decision is if I want to bite off the money to get the different steering wheel with contrast stitching. Thanks.

Couldn’t you keep the same wheel and just change the stitching?

Huh… well maybe I have one then! I don’t remember spec’ing it but I guess that doesn’t mean it’s not there. Where is the control/button located to heat the wheel?

Mine is a '21 and I got heat because I opted for multi-function heated steering wheel with matte carbon fiber. You probably don't have heat. If you do it is behind the spoke at 6:00.

When I was looking at a Panamera I asked about retrofitting and was told that it would be prohibitively expensive as the wiring harness may not have the right wires and the PCM would need reprogramming. I don’t remember the details but it was a few thousand dollars…. Service advisor had done it before but said it was not cheap. I didn’t dig into further.
I would not assume that it is a simple swap.

Did you inspect it for a switch? Never thought I would want a heated wheel, but now use mine in my 3 Series quite often in cold weather.

I know this post is old, but for those doing this project, it is indeed possible and not so difficult... for a straight swap to a heated steering wheel it will serve you well to buy a replacement clockspring with heat that is of the same year as your car. Definitely have a PIWIS, and definitely buy a code from a hacker. A dealer will NOT enable any features into your car that are not on your factory build sheet. Porsche really doesn't want you to play with your car. A shame...

Dealer man speak with forked tongue, you just need to change the clockspring, and the clock spring to one with the correct wiring harness. Then the new/used steering wheel... and then buy a hacker code and put it together. Enable it with a PIWIS. THE DEALER WILL DECLINE TO PROGRAM IT IN.
