Are you stating that you saved a total of 12lbs (approximately 3lbs per wheel) going from the stock Exclusive Design wheels/tires to the HRE LW wheels/tires?

Just re read your post again..

You saved 1lb on each of the front wheels (2lbs total)
and 5lbs on each of the rear wheels (10lbs total)

If this is accurate, then my previous posts on another thread were spot on. Only the HRE LW wheels are lighter than the OEM EXCLUSIVE DESIGN wheels. ALL of the other HRE wheels are heavier than the stock ED WHEELS. People were telling me I was crazy and I knew I read this somewhere.

David at Wheels Boutique, now you got the numbers...

Thank you for taking the time to weigh them and post!!

First off...new wheels look sick.

HREs are 12.5 instead of ED 12.0...so perhaps even more relative savings.

The ED centrelocks are surprisingly weight efficient in design when you see them from the back...

My sole reason for buying an aftermarket wheel is performance. I see no reason to buy an aftermarket wheel that is as heavy or heavier than the stock wheel because you sacrifice performance for aesthetics. When the wheel is lighter, then you get the aesthetics AND the performance as you do with the lightweight HRE's. I had the same wheels on my 991.2 Targa and loved them. Looking at the factory ED wheels, I was wondering if any aftermarket wheels were actually lighter. I knew the HRE LW had to be lighter because they are one of the lightest wheels manufactured that isn't carbon fiber. But, the new 992 wheels, both the ED and the standard 5 spoke design are VERY light. Which is why I started looking into what wheels could be purchased that are lighter than what Porsche offers. It seems only the LW BBS and LW HRE are and none of the others are.

So, from a performance standpoint, only these two would perform better than stock. That was the point I was trying to make 6 months ago when I jumped in on that other thread about wheel weights.

Not comparing apples to apples. These are +1" larger in diameter and still lighter than the stock ED wheels. Some aftermarket forged 1 piece wheels of the SAME diameter as the stock ED wheels may in fact be lighter

You are correct, they are 1" larger and still lighter, so it is safe to assume that in the same size they will be even lighter.
Now that we have the actual weight of the OED ED wheels and tires, it should be easy to compare them with any other AM wheels.

Did you purchase a 21/22" setup? I like you only will buy if there is a tangible improvement in weight savings without sacrificing strength. For track wheels I would consider going to a 20/20" setup for more options with better weight/cost/performance values

12# saved total!
The NA1 spec Pirelli tires are 23# front and 32# rear according to Tire Rack. That means the ED wheels are 47-23 = 24# front and 63-32 = 31# rear.

The Michelin PS4S are 25# front and 34# rear according to Tire Rack. That means the HRE R101LW are 46 - 25 = 21# front and 58-34 = 24# rear.

Even with the larger diameter the wheel weight savings is 3# each front and 7# each rear!

no problem. really like the ED wheels, but once i lowered the car, they were too tucked in. wanted the "full" wheel/tire look, but with as much weight savings as possible, since car is tuned/exhaust/intercooler.
