Default No Electric Steering Column Retro Fit???

My SA told me today that Porsche WILL NOT be retrofitting the steering column on my 2021 Turbo S. It was delivered with a manual steering column and only one key fob. SA said the key fob was “available” to order, but they were being released in waves and it could be several more months. She then told me they’d received a service bulletin late yesterday stating Porsche wouldn’t be performing the electric steering column retrofit and that customers would be receiving a communication from Porsche regarding “compensation”. Has anyone received any information regarding the electric steering column retrofit?

Wow, I can understand the delay but the decision to change a feature and tell you it won’t happen doesn’t seem right.

Maybe one day they’ll be worth a lot of money; like minted coins in error that made it into circulation.

Not entirely related but 3G cellular has been sunsetted impacting the Connect service on my Panamera. Porsche initially communicated that they would be providing the upgrade path for free but a month later sent a note saying that they would not be able to upgrade the cellular modem to 4G with an attachment to the note for a $700 off service voucher.

It seems like Porsche is having trouble honoring its previously communicated commitments.

my 2018 GT3 was upgraded last week for free - but my service manager said parts availablity is a serious issue and apparently world wide chip shortage is really really screwing with the auto industry.

Lexus sent me an email about a year ago stating that their 3G service will sunset sometime mid 2022 and that there is no replacement. Not cool to have a luxury car without these features/services. There was no coupon for discounted service either. Once the craziness ends, it will be replaced with another (non-Lexus) SUV.

Not cool at all. Bmw was able to upgrade my 2016 f31 wagon to 4/5G with no cost to myself.

Ok since I steered us off topic and keeping in the 3G module, Porsche initially said free upgrade then said there is no upgrade available because of technical something, not possible, but speak to the dealer about buying an upgrade module when it is available at the end of February.

Very poor form, especially since this is a Turbo S Panamera hybrid that uses the connect service to help manage charge, pre-heat, etc.

WHAT??? You have got to be kidding. I would be so pissed. No monetary compensation would make up for this for me.

My GTS coupe build is scheduled to start on Friday, hopefully this is sorted out, or they found some in the back room for me.

My car is a 2021 delivered 8/1/21 with no electric column and my dealer delivered a 2022 about 6 weeks ago with the electric column.

I was just informed today by my SA that my 4GTS is arriving without electric steering column. 200 Euro compensation. No retrofit. The car is currently in production since Monday. CP8 this Friday.
