My question is this in relation to the break-in period of 1800-2k miles (assuming you are in the break-in crowd):

Are we talking about short blips past 4000 rpm or extended moments past 4000 rpm? Being responsible is nearly impossible in sport mode, because halfway depressing the pedal down makes the beast lunge to over 4000 rpm.

Also I would love to hear more opinions regarding optimal mileage for that first oil change.
I think these recommendations are in relation to sustained driving above the threshold. It’s hard because the car only really comes alive above 4k.

I’m at 1900 miles and have scheduled my oil change.

You're in the right place for opinions....just remember that Opinions are like Belly Buttons (substitute other body anatomy part if u wish)...everybody has one

Porsche is going to tell you 10k miles....if done sooner, you pay for it, and lose the freebie at 10k miles

I was in the shop at 2400 miles...asked them to do it but i got so many "don't bother" comments (service mngr, and technician).... i waited for the 10k mile mark

I am picking up my car on Saturday. Before that I am reading the manual from time to time. However, I do not see any break-in period in my European 992 Turbo S. That section Safety and driving pleasures simply does not exist and I can’t find any of that stuff in the My Porsche app manual. Does that break-in period valid for the US market only? If so, that is so weird..

Would assume it's not just the engine it's the entire drive-train etc that's needs some time to "settle / wear in" ?!

Sure, but again, I do not see anything in the European manual about the break-in period...

Started spirited driving around 500mi. Launches at 1000mi. I have to agree with the warranty aspect.... If truly risky to the vehicle, not following break-in would void warranty and that simply is not the case.

Overall...I give a normal turbo'd Porsche (meaning non GT) 2 tanks of gas and then send it. Never had issues here. High compression motors like the Gt3 or a huracan v10, I do give 900-1000 miles of moderate driving before redlining just to really seat everything in.

~500km and send it, I do the same as above. Varied engine rpm, lots of engine braking to seat the rings. Maybe hold off on launch control till 1000km.

Mine came in at the Jacksonville port in in late November (2022). I drove it home 12-2-2022. It was cold and rainy. My dealer told me 1500 miles. I started brief 4500 Rpm at that time. I am now at 2200 miles and still not enough clear traffic on a warm day.to go near the redline.

Nonetheless, the torque comes in at 1800 rpm and keeps coming. It's a fun car.

I didn't understand !!! The seller told me that you can drive the car as you want only after maintenance at 1,000 kilometers. Knowing that I had my first maintenance 1,000 kilometers ago, they told me that I only change the oil at 15,000 kilometers!!! Did I drive too fast and is there any danger to my car? I started to shut down. I took it before the 1000 mark due to a warning about a shortage of coolant and they told me that there is no problem if the car comes from the factory and has a shortage!!!

IF the coolant is low, add coolant.

15,000km is way too long for oil changes, I would do the initial oil change around 3000km and every 5000-8000km, depending on conditions and how hard you drive it.

But what did your salesman tell you about the oil change period? The Porsche salesman told me
