Default Aftermarket brake pads

Is any vendor offering pads to replace the OEM PCCB brake pads on the 992 TTS?

Been getting pads from the dealership for track days.

TIA

I would stick with the OEM pads, even given the costs, as the ceramic rotors are quite pricey. In my opinion, the place to save money is not the pads.

Pagid makes the OEM PCCB pads.

You might try Pagid RSC1, which are the least aggressive of the pads Pagid makes, and may last a bit longer for you.

I’ll reach out to pagid about them.

the OEM work just fine, but getting a replacement set (the rear) from the dealer has been interesting due to the supply chain issues around the world.

I had trouble getting rears, checked with Pagid, no replacement pads yet for 992 TTS

I apologize for the diversion but I am about to have my first Porsche track day (homestead in Florida) and would like feedback on what you guys do to prep your baby?
I am not asking about little things like tire pressure or track tape but actual hardware change.
I have asked the dealer (organizing the event) about brake flush and pads and they stated, just show up, your car needs nothing. Just do a brake flush after and be ready for new tires after a couple events.

I don’t do any hardware changes on my car (992 TTS).

I did do a brake flush and used the racing brake fluid.

Otherwise I just show up with the car. I track mine completely stock otherwise.

If you are going to do some serious track days, then I would order a set of brake pads now. For me, it seems that one set of front lasts about as long as 2 sets of rears, meaning I’m changing the rears twice for every once for the fronts.

Thanks for the feedback. Did you do a brake flush before the track day?

You don’t need to do anything! She’s all ready!

Did an event there at Homestead w/ my TTS earlier in the year…was a blast.

I’ve probably done about 8 - 10 track events thus far and am in need of my second set of pads and tires. I’ll do a break fluid flush and oil change at the same time (have about 4600 miles). I had 1 degree of (negative) camber added to the front while the first set of tires was installed.

Bleed the tires to about 26 - 27 psi (start of session) and enjoy!

If you are planning to do it more than 1-2 times ever, it makes sense to do a more track-focused alignment to save tires. Do not bother with anything else. As long as brake fluid is less than 1 year old, you should not need to flush before or after (unless you boil it which is extremely unlikely).

Yes, show up , and you do a brake flush when your pads are changed. Homestead is easy on brakes. Tires start at 26 psi 34 max hot.
