Default Anyone retrofit a home link mirror?

Since the PCM is rarely bringing up the home link screen when arriving home, has anyone thought of or installed the frameless home link rear view mirror?

I guess you are fortunate, there are several threads about the issue many of us have.

My wife's new Audi has this same wonderful feature (not) - we simply clipped the stock garage door opener (pretty small) back on the cars visor, problem solved. I'll do the same when the TTS arrives. Not the best solution, but much better than dealing with it in the info system. It's really sad someone thought this was a great idea - although most likely due to simple cost cutting.

I have not looked at the threads but mine is working perfectly fine. I believe you need to make sure you enable the location services so that it automatically pops.
I even went further and programmed one of the empty buttons to open the homelinks.

Mine has popped up every time except once coming home, the bitch is leaving in the morning, takes many screen X outs to close the garage door, I do have the program buttom programmed for the homelink, but when the appleplay is connecting at the same time there is a delay in clearing the display

My issues with homelink in my '20 C2s is the slow boot up time in the morning and having to wait for the PCM to load up so I can close the garage. Which is I went back to the remote.

I've heard the '22s are better. Faster load times.

When I leave for work in the morning and I start the car sometimes it pops up immediately then there are other times the spinning circle comes up and you have to sit there and wait.

Why would it be different at different times?

I wonder if the car detects the key within a proximity and starts boot up. If so, maybe there is some variability in proximity detection.

Back to my original question, anyone put in a home link mirror? I would just rather have that simple solution. I have that in my other car and would love to have it in the 911. Looking for info on which model would fit our cars.

Hi Scott!
I think it's impossible to add this option on your car

Call AI Designs in NY, they built a complete radar detector into my mirror, Homelink should be a piece of cake

I installed a "Tailwind" system. It automatically opens the door when I get within 250 feet of the house (after I've been beyond 350 feet from the house) and closes it when I drive beyond 350 feet from the house (as long as I was within 250 feet with the Garage Door open.).

I can also control the Garage Door with Alexa and/or my cell phone. Ex: I just say; "Alexa, Open Garage Door" and the Garage Door opens. -OR- "Alexa, Close Garage Door" and the Garage Door closes. FWIW I also have a password that Alexa asks for to open the Garage Door.
