Speaking of ADM, take a look at this one. I was bringing my car in for maintenance, and was asked if I was interested in this AGM GT Black Series they had on the floor. Only 150 in the world, but come on!!!

$300K ADM

$300k ADM on that car. All I can say is holy sh*t! It might seem crazy but it only takes one super rich person that has FU money to sell it. There are plenty of car enthusiasts with FU money out there

That’s an ugly car. I don’t get the AMG GT at all.

I like some of the AMG GT's like the GTR, but this is way too gaudy for me!

Just screams "I'm trying way too hard" - never seen such a screwed up bunch of angles, vents, spoilers, fins, slats, slots, gills,....you name it, it's there.

Sorry, but these markups just seem rude to me. Especially how they list the Additional Dealer Mark-Up so clearly on the sign in that Mercedes dealership and on this Porsche GT3. It seems shameful to me, and yes, I understand it's an asking price and maybe... market value or near it. Regardless, it pi&&es me of to see it.

It's like a Veblen good. Maybe they are using these prices to attract sharks who want the unattainable and like that they are paying more than anyone else could afford? Guys who have a real "F*** you money" kind of mentality. Only thing that makes sense to me.

My SA said that Porsche is a toy store for grown men. You want a toy? You have to pay. You want a special toy? You pay more.

But I do love the term "Market Adjustment" lol. Getting creative with words.

Supply and demand. Most of the time it works in our favor. Right now it's in the dealer's favor. Oh well. That said, I guess my TTS allocation at 5K over sticker (which I hesitated to accept) is a real bargain.

$300K ADM

That MB dealer is within 10miles of suburbs where most of SiliconValley's plutocrats reside
Know a couple guys who bought many >$200K AMGs/yr for many yrs from that dealer and IIRC were offered the GTBS at MSRP, but had passed, as they only bought AMG S65 Coupes every yr as DD, and had stopped buying AMGs 2-3 yrs ago, as 65s ended and none of their current products are interesting
Suspect fact that car is on showroom floor and hadn't been pre-sold to some repeat, local buyer says much about the (ir)relevance of AMG in one of world's wealthiest mkts
Plutocrats who are car nuts tend to have pre-negotiated fleet buying arrangements at MSRP with relevant dealers
And smarter plutocrats who aren't car nuts tend to ask one of their plutocrat pals "who's their guy?" and join a syndicate bulk buying deal of sorts for their cars, kinda like how they ask each other for advice/referrals on owning own planes vs charter vs NetJets, etc
But a car dealer in a place like the SF Peninsula will likely have the occasional less smart, impatient, FU $ guy who will pay the trivial ask, so why not ask?
And my sense is, this dealer and its best salesguys take care of their repeat, most profitable customers, so if none of them want the car, mark-to-market seems a rather fair approach to business, much like many major CA/FL dealers vs P GT sales vs unknown-profitability customers, after their usual, most profitable customers are first served

Yeah these marketa are nuts. I’d never pay over MSRP or maybe just minimally and I’ve always gotten a discount on my Porsches. Ferrari is the only manufacturer that prohibits the practice and at these ADMs I’d much rather buy a Ferrari. I just ordered an F8 which will be the last gas engine only v8. My contract even states “car to be sold at MSRP”. That said some manufacturers are jacking up prices big time. I just bought a 2022 Malibu surf boat and Malibu just announced a 8% markup on future orders after they already raised prices 12% from 2021 to 2022 for the same exact boat. These boats are $350k now and if this keeps up they’ll be 500k soon.

Not sure why people are bashing the Black Series. Really not that much different of an animal than the GT2RS. It has impressive times on the track and will retain its value like previous ones. It really looks amazing in real life and pictures don't do it justice,
I agree that the ADM is completely absurd but for the ones that bought it at MRSP (I passed on my spot), this is a no brainer and much more exclusive than most of the GT cars.
