Default Would you order now or wait for the 992.2?

I have a spot for a 2022 TTS if I want it. Car would be here in the early part of next year.

I wanted to run something by you all though. If I’m thinking this through correctly, this will be the last year of the 992.1. 2023 would be the 992.2 in theory?

If Porsche goes by its normal process, the 992.2 will likely have powertrain differences and interior upgrades? Is it worth it to wait? I’m not in a giant hurry for one, but would rather not regret getting the last year before they change it. However, they’ve made so few cars lately, maybe that doesn’t hold true.

The 991.2’s are more desirable than the .1’s, so I’m a little concerned about pulling the trigger now. Thoughts?

Turbos usually run about a year beyond the "base" version of any model increment,.....so I don't think we will see a .2 TT/TTS until probably the 2024 model year - with the lessor 992.2 versions arriving in 2023. There's always something better/different down the road, you just have to pick a spot in time and be happy with it. This will probably be the last version with pure gas power - next will probably be a gas/mild hybrid that will probably add weight and maybe some performance - who knows. I'd jump on one now - you can always upgrade later - and no one knows what life will have in store for them 3 years down the road.

Do you like the 992 TTS? If so then get it now. Don’t make it complicated. It’s not like the 992.2 is coming out next year. That’s the only time I’d consider waiting.

There's always something new and improved around the corner. If you constantly waited for what for what's next, you'd never get anything. I'd get it now.

The moment I laid eyes on the 992 at the LA auto show in November of 2018 I realized it's a 991.3 and told myself the 992.2 will be the one to get. That's not a knock on the 992 as the 991.2 is legendary. If you're already in a 991.2, I'd personally wait. There's no rush and there shouldn't be a fear of missing out IMO.

Unclear when the 992.2 is going to come out or what upgrades it will have, but Porsche is testing a hybrid version of the 992 turbo at the moment. If and when a hybrid version of the 992 TTS comes out, I can't imagine any well-heeled buyer wanting the 992.1 TTS.

Like everyone said, the 992.2 TTS is years away. Get what you can now.

You should wait for the 992.2.

But then when the 992.2 comes out, the 994 will be right around the corner.

So I guess by that time you should just wait for the 994.1.

But then when the 994.1 comes out, the 994.2 will be right around the corner.

So I guess ...

Just out of interest, how do you buy your computer hardware and software, your smartphone, your tablet, etc. ? Buy the most recent version available when you need it or "wait for the next one", once the the new one is out and available?

Personally I have no interest in the future model, which will likely be hybrid. Which is why I ordered a 992.1.

I would def get it now. These cars retain their value decently. You can always get rid of it should you like the 992.2

That’s actually a reasonable question (besides the fact that no one *needs* a 911 lol). I waited until the M1 processors came out on the Macbook and I won’t replace my iPhone X until Touch ID - which is rumored in this release — is confirmed. So I probably answered my own question, huh?

OPF/GPF will be on all later TT/TTS models I bet.. MY22 had a nice tweak to the MMI without the need to undue any other critical issues with car's design. Sooner rather than later would be my call.

lol. Im not sure what world you’re living in?!? As a previous 991.1 TTS and 991.2 TTS owner and now a current 992 TTS I can tell you that the 992 is nothing like the 991. It drives totally different, the interior is totally new and the exterior is quite different - especially the rear. The 991 was an amazing car but the 992 is next level which is typical Porsche MO for series updates. Honesty I couldn’t tell much different between the 991.1 and 991.2 and I suspect the 992.2 will follow that unless they introduce a hybrid to compete with Ferrari

What? I’ve had 2 991 911s and the 992 is a dramatic change. All 911s are an evolution, but with your logic a 997 and 992 are the same too. 🤪
