Default What lease term to avoid getting stuck between generations?

My car should arrive somewhere between the end October and beginning of November of this year. I’m leasing it through my business to take advantage of the tax benefit. The question is what term should I take to try to avoid getting stuck between generations. I’m leaning toward 12k mi per year and would take anywhere from a 36-48 month lease. I don’t want to come out of the lease to find that the next Turbo isn’t available. I’m first on my dealer’s list for the next GT3 Touring, but I’m planning to buy that car outright and not drive it daily.

Anyone have any thoughts based on historical timing of releases?

Kinda irrelevant because you can always sell the car.

True, but unless there’s even or better money in it at the time of selling it’s easier to just hand it back.

It's strange to even consider "better money" given how terrible the lease is for the Turbo S.

It is terrible, but the tax savings when leased through the business outweigh the terribleness - albeit only slightly… I think.

No way I would lease a Turbo S on a personal level.

Do you mean a 99.2 Turbo or a next gen 994 Turbo? If the latter, you’ll be waiting longer than 48 months.

Porsche production cycles seem to be at about 7 years +/- 1 year. 991 was introduced as a 2012.5 model year; the .2 models appeared in 2017 and lasted until 2019. If Porsche follows the same product plan, then we shouldn’t expect the .2 models until 2024/2025 MY.

I mean the 992.2. I don’t want to end the lease after production ends and be stuck in the gap between that and the next gen Turbo.

the Porsche lease for this car is so awful. You can lease a McLaren or Ferrari for that amount of money. I love my TTS but if someone forced me to try a Ferrari for 2 years due to "tax advantages" well who am I to complain about such a strange and fortuitous turn of events ?

I’m curious as to what line of work the IRS finds it acceptable to lease a $240k car for business use.

Genuinely asking, not a snark comment.
