Default Average price build

I wish my freeze date would close already. I keep adding more options and quickly approaching 250k for a Turbo S build. I’m wondering if I should be more practical and try to get it under 240k.

What is everyone averaging for their build?

Mine was before most recent price increase. Plenty of options. Would be in 235 range without exclusive interior. There's usually always a way.

But if you're going to spend that much, I really think you should get all you want.

I think with a Turbo S, it's pretty much get what you want.

FWIW, the Maximum residualized MSRP for the Turbo S is somewhere around $235k.

Conventional wisdom that I've heard is to keep a build within a $10k window of that number in order to minimize depreciation losses on resale. This assumes a "normal" market.

Most builds can be done at $245k I'd think, but at this point it probably makes sense to just get what you want. Since I was already spending $12k on paint, it didn't make much sense to nickel and dime the build. Even then, the car ended up cheaper than a lot of the builds I see.

I didn't leave much on the table. I had zero interest in the nannies or FAL, so that ends up saving a lot of money.

I didn't get the extended leather door cards, simply because the value component seemed so poor, I had a hard time justifying it. I didn't get leather trimmed seat backs because I thought it would be too brown. I didn't get Exclusive taillights because I didn't like the red 3rd brake light clashing with the clear taillight.

Burmester is one option I've had some second thoughts about...but I literally only listen to XM radio when I'm in the car and usually at a low background volume. Spending $4k just to get silver grills....it's very hard to justify.

So in the end - $240k

Mine came out to a tad over $240 with paint to sample. It is currently sitting at the docks for the past week and expected to do so for the next two weeks. The build code no longer works but you can give it a try PM8NFP80

I'm leaning towards my less expensive build for sure now (#2). If I can forgo the leather seat backs with carbon fiber inserts and ACC it would be under $238k for option # 2... I'll have to see how I feel about it when time gets closer. I put a deposit down in January but my dealer still doesn't have an allocation yet for me.

http://www.porsche-code.com/PNNG2DG5 with FAL and most everything $260590

http://www.porsche-code.com/PNCEXV83 without FAL, or extended leather. $242,360

That's a slippery slope, my friend. I went from $180k to $240k with that very same mentality. Got to draw the line somewhere, because it never ends. You justify $10k on marginal options and the bar lowers to add on more and more. The next thing you know, that $10k has turned into $20k.
