Main screen (with all the options), scroll down. You'll see homelink. Click on that and the option to program presents itself.

So with the 2022 PCM, have some of the above HomeLink use problems been rectified?

Yes.

PCM boots instantly. I have HL mapped to the dash button. It operates almost instantly. You don't have to interface with the PCM screen or wait for the thing to boot up. Just press the button and the garage door opens/closes. When you're in reverse, the button works no problem. The dash switch basically works as good as the old mirror button now.

This is great news! I thought I'd have to use my really old garage door opener "clicker" which is ugly and put it on my sun visor.

I had to use a garage door clicker in my C2s. Happy to say that I no longer need it.

I wonder if there is a PCM update that we can do on our 21 so that it loads faster...

I believe it was a hardware change - more/faster RAM to allow for suspension of the PCM rather than a full boot up. Just like on PCs.

After 2 people spending 35 minutes trying to program our 2022 911 Turbo S using first the manual, then this video, then other videos (of course none online are a model 2022 911) we have officially given up and will keep using our 20 year old clicker that I have put in the map pocket driver's side and used for the past 11 months. I really thought today was going to be the day, the day when we actually had time to try to figure out the whole "connecting our garage door opener through the PCM unit".

It's one of the weak parts of this car, the instructions to do this and the actual doing of it. I'm so pi**ed off right now that 2 60 old college grads can't figure this thing out. I guess we'll go back out there 1 more time for 30 more minutes and try it again but... damn this sucks.

Yep. A solution for a problem that does not exist. Even when you get it working, it's less convenient than the old clicker. I suppose if you own multiple homes, each in gated communities and drive your TTS between them all, then having a dozen GPS-registered locations might make sense. I put this blunder up there with the steering wheel design that completely obscures the outer two dials...

Default Could it be this-

Steve- I had the same frustration until I realized that I had to actually Press and Hold the HL button, not just touch it like every other car in the world. It turned out it was programmed but I didn’t know it. Hope that helps.

Best day ever! After 15 more minutes of fiddling around with it, my wife finally figured it out. The answer was not in any instruction in the Porsche manual, but only on a video that you guys posted above. Thank you! I finally decided to let her drive the car this afternoon for a while, and she was elated. She had never driven it in the seven months we were dating. We were married a month ago. I totally trust her to drive it now.

Revisiting this thread for others as I just went through it. I’ll repost the video from page one as it is the only way I got it to work. Also reiterating that the shortcut button works for one touch HL operation.
