Curious....

If you were to have two in the garage....the constant being a 991.2 Touring....would you opt for it to be a 992 TTS OR 992 Targa? I did opt for the Targa after some deliberation for a variety of reasons (Styling - unique platform - grand touring character - cost) but curious as to if you would have made the same decision and why. Surprisingly-or maybe not - the cost our fully optioned Targa - was not all that different than a properly optioned TTS.

From what is available to watch and read, I am hoping this new 992 TTS scratches the itch that, IMO, all 991 Turbos fell short on and were numb to. In fact I bet my GT3 Touring on it..... by ordering a TTS coupe.
Did you order the Heritage Design Targa 4S?

If the Targa you specced out is within 10K of a your TTS (I could not get there unless I chose a heritage unit), I would take the TTS. Performance is night and day unless you are going to store that targa for 30 years and not drive it (which IMHO, there are better places to put your money).

im still 6 months away from buying another car but I optioned them out last week out of curiosity, boredom and because its fun ![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Targe 4s came out around $168k
Turbo cab around $206k
Turbo S cab around $236k
Obviously you can option these out way more for much higher prices but this is what my true builds came to.
Note: none optioned with ceramic brakes

Now that I will not track much anymore, I'll consolidate either in Turbo S or in GT3 if that offers rear seats this time around.

As I said on the GT3 board, get the TTS.
The Targa is such an oddball 911 variant. It's not really a cabriolet, doesn't offer the full top-down driving experience, yet its heavier than a similarly spec'd cabrio.
Tha'ts why the Targa isn't even a Swiss Army knife jack-of-all trades 911. Because it doesn't do any one thing particularly well, or well at all.
So what's the real appeal of it? I suppose the uniqueness of it, and perhaps the better resale value down the road (debatable).

Now $68K difference to a TTS Cab is a big difference.

TTS would be what I’d go for since I’m a peculiar coupe with no sunroof kind of enthusiast.

I don't really have anything to add, other than I watched an old Top Gear yesterday. They agreed that convertibles are for women. According to James May, the only suitable convertible for a bloke is a Triumph TR-6.
