Default All 2021 992s being held at port pending Nov 6 Release

Dealer just told me that all 2021 992s en route will be held at ports and not released to customers before November 6. No clue why .....

its not like anyone has any control over it - in years gone by, we would simply wait to hear when the dealer took delivery...now we track every step from the factory -- with little comfort

Interesting as some have already been delivered so something must have happened.

Curious, where have some been delivered?

My Canadian dealer has had a customer's Turbo S sitting at port in Halifax for well over a month now. I checked today and it is being held on what is termed a certification hold.

That’s why I asked in the other thread how that 992 TTS got to M for tuning .... I’ve not seen or heard of any deliveries

Unhappy

I am being informed of the same information and release date. Claim it hasn't received the necessary Carb certification. Not precisely what this means, nor how accurate the Nov. 6th date is. You're right though, Porsche has this really cool app allowing us to monitor the entire build and ship process and time schedule....to what value?

Well if the engine doesn’t have the epa certification, how is there one being tuned in US right now on the other thread?? Anyone??

That was exactly why I posted that some TTS have landed in customer's hands. The thread shows the TTS registered in NY.

Default Updated 992 TurboS schedule

TYD reports a slightly faster production schedule for my 992 TurboS: ordered in March:

Lock date was 9/15
“Scheduled for production” date was 9/29
Started production on 10/7 (10/9 had been the estimated date)
Finish production date unchanged as yet - still estimated as 10/16 (CT scheduled for same day)

Shipment/delivery dates from Emden to Davisville unclear- presumably either
Swift Ace 10/20-11/5
Viking Queen 11/3-11/18

Neither have most 2021 vehicles. Doesn't look like this is a situation unique to Porsche.

CARB hasn't released any Executive Orders (Emissions Certification) since June 29th.

Isn’t this the same below - looking for a certificate of conformity? I didn’t see any 2021 MY Applications from Porsche but it looks like the last entry was a month ago. You can review all the 2020 Porsche model apps and certificates on this site as well. I could be totally wrong just sharing the info I found.

Checked with my sales manager yesterday and he consulted his area rep. Certification has been delayed until November 13th. Of course, no guarantees there either. Delays in certification are routine for Porsche. The dealers speculate that this is "payback" for "Dieselgate."
