While I appreciated the OP of basically confirming what everyone thought was happening...350 million people in the US ish and 3 or 4000 cars. Capitalism will prevail. It just sucks for those of us on the fringe that don't want to pay the markup lol

you get it all back when you sell. trying to get the hottest car below market price prob would cost you either the ownership experience or you will end up paying more to get the car right

excluding taxes, my gt3 ownership currently is cheaper than my lexus which i got at a discount off msrp.

Every time I drive my manual f83 M4, I just love the manual experience, to the point I can't imagine replacing it with anything else. I hope to find the same with the 992.1 GT3 6-speed, and if I keep it for the long term, then value retention becomes more of a moot point.
Ya, I get it.

I prefer the 992 (.1 or .2) looks and I only wanted a manual. Once the 992.2 details and pricing came out and there was still ADM I thought the 992.1 provided a better value as there was $20k increase in MSRP from 2022 - 2024 then the big jump with the 2025 MY.

It is pretty obvious the market is artificially inflated. @chicagomarketing just put the pieces together to show how it is done. Here are some data points, there are 133 992 GT3's for sale within 300 miles of my location, only one is private party. Of the 66 2025 or newer GT3's 32 of them have less than 200 miles and 26 of those are delivery miles. All of them are at dealers and a significant portion are at the dealers mentioned by Chicago (Eurocar, Porsche Bakersfield, etc).

There are 92 G80 M3's for sale within the same distance. So now we have more GT3's for sale than M3's for the same production years in the same region.

Why does this matter? Dealers have artificially inflated GT3 prices by posting a significant number of false sales through auction sites and then grabbed up every available GT3 on the market and listed them with the justification that the artificial prices are the market. That is not the market, that is price fixing.

Your assuming the market will never crash... .. It is the hottest car until it isn't. What if engine issues pop up like the 991.1, Then you become the red headed stepchild really fast.

I corrected my original post. I meant not in love with 991.2 GT3 Manaul looks, so 992.1 GT3s manual it is. I think you knew what I meant, the darn number conversions are so close.

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/20...t3-touring-46/

I don’t typically talk much about overpriced cars these days as much as I once did….this can’t be a real sale, nor can this lunatic paying 515k for a whatever 997.2 3rs

two absolutely next level idiotic purchases

he could have walked in and gotten a 992.2 gt3 pts with all the same options but 5 years newer with a sticker that’s 100k more for the same price. No one is that stupid

funny how it came from wob given he chimed in here with an absolute novel, he could personally introduce me to this lunatic buyer with the check he paid with and I still wouldn’t believe it to be legitimate.

It is really really strange, the same guy who won this one at $352K for a 5 year old car, from Wob, he has also bid on 2 of Wob's other GT3 auctions, and there are bot like comments on them too. "I like Porsche" on one, "I love Porsche" on another. Why comment this like you're a child thats been given iPad time, and then bid $352K and win an auction and comment "yay"? This is just odd. It kind of reminds of those conspiracies about Wayfair furniture a few years ago.
