Default GT3 cold start sound

Just took delivery of my GT3 Touring recently — plan to do a post + pictures, but in the meantime …I have a question regarding sound.

I love love the way the car sounds at cold startup — is this sound created because the valves are closed? If one does a valve delete (soul) or valve controller (cargraphic), I assume that the car will always sound that way at cold startup (even beyond the 30-40 seconds) and then through the rev range, the car will sound like it does with the stock valve program after 4500 RPM?

The valves are wide open at startup to heat up the cars quicker. You can buy a valve controller from Cargraphic or Soul makes plugin modules that keep them open 100% at all times.

The cold start loud idle is an emissions feature where the engine runs at a higher idle and with retarded ignition timing so as to put heat into the exhaust and get the catalytic converters up to temp. It is not a desirable mode to be running your engine in. It’s only there for govt regs.

This is why I don't move my car until it comes down off that high/loud idle.

Right, and don't forget to open the choke after while we're at it.

And FWIW, the blue temp engine warm-up light doesn't go off until it hits 154 degrees.

Goes off when the oil temp hits 140. Doesn’t matter what the coolant temp is.

I have a set of soul valve delete module if interested. I’ll let them go for $250 shipped in the united states. Message me if you’re interested.

Understood.
But it appears to equate with 154 coolant temp every single time.
Like clockwork.
