992 GT3 RS Engine Bay Opening | ASR VALVE CONTROLLER
Hi guys, I'm opening this new discussion for clarification. Let me explain the procedure I followed to open the engine bay of my 992 GT3 RS in order to install the ASR valve control module.
1- First, I removed the rear speaker, which is held in place by 5 Torx screws, very simply
2- Then, I lifted the oil and coolant plastic covers to remove the outer plastics. Be very careful, they are interlocked with clips and are fragile; I preferred to lift them only as much as necessary.
3- Now you need to unscrew the two lower Torx screws that hold the painted tail in place; this will then slide easily towards the rear, leaving you with access.
4- Here, you need to remove the central black cover held in place by a couple of easily visible Torx screws and interlocking clips. Be careful to disconnect the brake light connector.
5- Now proceed to remove the fans, which are interlocked, and you're done. I installed the module under the central part inside the engine bay, but I'm not convinced since it's a very hot area.
Ideally, you should remove the headlights and the bumper to mount it behind the crash bar, but I didn't want to exaggerate and tried a quicker solution. I placed it under the red circle.
I hope this can be useful to someone.

The only thing I would mention is that if you have the time and the inclination, you should disassemble the bumper and place the controller behind the crash bar. Putting it inside the engine compartment didn't cause any problems for me, and it didn't overheat, but the manufacturer doesn't recommend it, so I would avoid it if possible. It shouldn't be too complicated, but you should be careful with the clips above the rear lights, as they have a specific alignment to fit the rest properly on top.
A special thanks goes to the guys who helped me and did the job!
