Offered both 911 GT3 and 718 GT4 RS today
After being on the waiting list for a long time, I was surprisingly offered both the 911 GT3 and 718 GT4 RS today, so I now have quite the dilemma. In terms of driving dynamics, I suspect the 992 is probably a better vehicle, even though we are comparing a RS versus a non-RS.
I'm not planning to flip, but it's obvious that GT3 values are coming down, particularly for the non-RS models, while the 718 GT4 RS will likely always be special as the last petrol 718. So if I do ever decide to make a switch, I can't help but feel that on the GT3 I could take a massive loss, while the GT4 will hold value better.
Would love to get some opinions from the experts here as I have to make a decision in the next couple days.

I was offered a similar situation but for 3RS and 4RS. I went 3RS. I’m still looking for a 4RS but waiting for the right spec and feel like prices are still coming down. For a drivers car- i think the 4RS is a great option.

Agree don't chase values -pick the car you will be most happiest with. If manual is important only one option...gt3. If you want a rowdy car thats more playful and a screamer for the back roads the 4RS. Both great cars can't go wrong.

Agree that resale value shouldn't be a big consideration, but I can't help thinking about it. Unless you are keeping the car forever (unlikely), eventually you have to trade it in, and I can't help but feel that the market is going to get flooded with GT3s as folks who overpaid start panicking as prices keep falling.
Resale considerations aside, I'm a bit torn between a couple factors.
- GT3 has better front suspension
- GT4 RS interior and infotainment is already looking quite dated, and this isn't going to improve with time...
- GT3 dash is strange, stuck awkwardly between analog dials and digital screens (would be better to be full analog, or full digital)
- Subjective, but I do prefer the sleek lines of the GT3 more
- GT4 RS is a RS, and RS is RS
- GT4 RS is the last petrol 718, it's a bit special for that reason, and likely to hold value better. There have been many (and there will be more) GT3's, but just one and only one GT4 RS
Honestly, a very tough call.
