Ethos of the S/T
#17
Disagree, it would make a wonderful date night car , certainly more so then a RS or a GT3 , It’s a everything sports car , wolf in sheep’s clothing .

you are lucky. While she is rather hot, my wife hates the carbon buckets seats and hates loud engine noises when going out for a nice evening. So the S/T in my household is absolutely a no go for a nice evening out. During ED with my 4RS last summer she wore gun ear protection headmuffs!

My wife tries to beat me to the driver seat every time. I ask her should we take the SUV her reply is the evil eye.

Maybe an unpopular opinion here, but regardless of how ST drives, it's a nostalgia car in spirit. It's not a "dignified cruiser" like SC, but it's still very much retro. Just look at it. It comes with a manual only, which no carbon-fibre-embracing race car does these days or since the beginning of this century. It ditches RWS, and there is no practical reasons to ditch RWS - only "ideological", to underscore the back-to-basics ethos. If I were to get it, I'd go as retro as possible, and I want it with a static rear aero, e.g., ducktail, to make it even more retro. Also, you can get carbon-fibre on any modern sports car. But ST is a rare opportunity to get classic combinations of fabrics and leathers that are not just arbitrary but also have a history and roots behind them. As far as nostalgia/classics go, this is a rare opportunity to get a genuine-feeling classic vibe with top-shelf modern performance and reliability. It's not my cup of tea - for me GT3 RS being gasoline-powered is already nostalgic enough - but if it were not the case, I'd be scheming on how to get an ST (and to put a ducktail on it )
An aside for those who say RWS feels unnatural - RWS can be programmed to feel like any fully mechanical suspension, just crisper and more consistent because a motor controlling wheel deflection is much less sloppy than rubber bushings, just like an electronically controlled diff can simulate the behaviour of any mechanical diff just without the limitations and inconsistencies caused by temperature changes and component wear.

Well said , carbon fiber is over rated everyone and their mom has it as an option, I am also wanting a duck tail but how where ?

Black/black. That's the personality of this car. YMMV.
Fingers still crossed for an allocation. Only 5 Dakars have made it to Mexico. 1 ST and rumor has it only a handful will make it. Absolutely embarrassing showing by PAG in MX.

1. Heritage interior
2. PTS color that accentuates the interior color and is a 901 color
3. Wife loves our R…certain she will love the S/T
On a related note, in 2019 we were in Monterey for car week and I told my wife I wanted a CGT. She thought it was ugly…bought the car anyway in 2020…and now she loves it!
Cheers to the road ahead…

Off-topic, but whenever I noticed your location "Somewhere in Mexico" I thought it was a euphemism for street racing, like US-Americans sometimes use it to avoid issues with police or insurance. We Canadians just say "on a friend's farm"

I live 15 mins away from amazing roads that are relatively empty and seldom patrolled. You don't go to jail here for excessive speed.
Somewhere in Mexico has double meaning for me.

I would do the black interior with some cool color stitching and swap the seat centers out for something spicy before I would do the brown interior in the s/t- if I could not get cxx.
I had ascot interior on the CGT, ascot on the 000 spyder and cuoio on my first 812. I have tartufo on my x7 and truffle in my Targa and cohiba in my touring.
the S/T would have to be different. I saw a heritage shore blue S/T at Sonderwunsch on the 20th and do not like that color in person. Out of the standard colors I'd do Ice Gray or Gentian. Black looks way too plain.
