Default Long Cold Start with Diff Error

Hey Everyone,

I have an interesting problem the dealership is currently working on. Cold start takes a solid 4+ seconds to fire up and once it’s running I get a diff malfunction warning error for a couple seconds and it self clears.

it had the extended range fuel tank rattle, so the fuel tank was replaced. Additionally the fuel pump and pump controller w as replaced to solve to long cold start issue, but that wasn’t it.

Im wondering if anyone had a similar issue or thoughts on this.

Edit: 2022 GT3…July 2021 build. Stock car

Someone else posted a similar issue and dealer thought it was the high-pressure fuel pump (that feeds the injection), not the pump from the fuel tank…

I will double check which one they replaced… I did see a thread for long cold start that had that but apparently it didn’t fix it iirc

PDK or Manual? I’m guessing PDK for a diff error (hydraulic control)…

I had that too. Long start like battery is dying - after few batteries, turned out to be HPFP

Got the car back after a month, ran great for a day, new high pressure fuel pumps that took 2 weeks fly in from the factory,

now its scheduled to be on its way back to the dealer on flat bed, now in limp mode,

error message: Engine control error, Driving permitted, visit workshop

back firing, no power,

hope it can be fixed, 20k miles

ouch man. I’m at 12.5k miles. Cars been in the shop 3 months now. They just did injectors with the engine out. Didn’t solve the problem so now it’s on to the HPFP. When will those show up from Germany, no idea.

after doing the injectors, and not fixing it, they’re moving on to the HPFP now. With the engine out I’m wondering why they just didn’t do everything at once

Looks like we're seeing a trend here - my dealer said they're starting to see a trend, too. Was a quick fix.

Hey sparetireless, did you have your car fixed finally?

I am having similar issues on a 2020 911 S. I had the low pressure pump replaced, then the 2 high pumps, check engine light is still on, and we are doing a last effort to replace the low pressure pump once more.
