Default 992 GT3 RS storage question...

Hi gents,

Haven't been overly active on Rennlist forums for some time beyond following the chat but I was recently offered an allocation for a 992 RS. I have owned and tracked a 997.2 GT3 since new and I'm considering a swap for a new challenge... I've read all the posts on lack of storage, no frunk, tools in glovebox etc and this is likely the only thing that phases me for the moment. I usually go to the track with a mate, there will always be a helmet, camera bag and a couple bits and pieces to take along so putting gear in the passenger's seat is not an option unless it's all going on my mate

For those guys who have taken delivery of non-WP cars with Clubsport package, how difficult is it to get things into the cage area? Is anyone with a car able to upload photos of access into the area behind the seats with the seats staggered? trying to understand what will pass through.

Have done euro track adventures with a RL buddy and I'm well versed in cramming a million things behind the seats in a non CS RS, just want to understand what I might be getting myself into with the limitation of this particular vehicle as the preference would be to roll to/from tracks without a support vehicle...

Any feedback or photos would be greatly appreciated!

Chris

Great to see you posting, Chris! I don’t have a new RS (have a new Manual GT3), but hope you do it and you can manage an ED trip

Thanks Grant, it's been far too long since those last adventures! Hoping to execute if I can get a decent deal on the GT3 but regretfully no ED for us, just crazy prices! 😁

Congrats on the new GT3, bound to be a weapon for sure! 👌

i drive my 992 RS without the cage.

and so you can use the backseat area like on every other 991 or 992.

perfect for me.

everything you will need for some trackdays or/and 2 weeks will find its place.

you will load from the side / moved forward the front seats.
really big things you have to load through the middle with a knee on the front seat.

Thanks Joker, that's what I'm hoping will happen also. Had read somewhere in these forums that someone was having issues passing helmets behind seats with the cage.

There aren't many cars in circulation in our market just yet so hard to get an understanding of how tight it is. The clubsport package is a no cost option here so hard to pass up...

Certainly no deal breaker, if I have to wear my helmet to the track to avoid a support vehicle, I'll happily do it
