Default at what mileage does the engine feel like it’s "run in"

I have 3k on the car and the engine is beginning to feel like it revs a little freer. Most cars ive had always loosen up with some miles.
At what mileage do think its done wearing in?

I have 14k miles and it feels good. But I read that modern motors can continue to improve for 50k. Very subtle, I’m sure.

I agree If you read some of the long term tests in the mags usually the test at the end of 40k is quicker than the first when the car was new.
interested in what those who have some miles on say?

How many people even get high end sports cars all the way to 40k miles?

All the more reason to get out and drive more.

Sad to see Porsche GT cars treated more like Ferraris, where 1k miles per year is common.

In 1997 I sold my F355 with 8000 miles and it was like selling a car with 100,000.
Three years old, 8000 miles people asked me how come it had such high mileage.

Most Ferrari owners don't care about driving, they just want the flash and it boosts their ego. Ferrari is a status symbol more than anything.

I have 22K miles on my 718 GT4 in 1.5 years and I work from home.

The 5 Ferrari owners I know all have put more miles on their F cars (f12, 458, F8 (3)) than their GT cars.

Careful with stereotypes. They're best at revealing ignorance.

If I had a 430 Spyder I would drive the hell out of it. That's my retirement daily driver.

Then you know some cool Ferrari owners. The ones I have come across fit my original description.

They feel the same at zero miles as they do 40K miles.

Quick Reply: at what mileage does the engine feel like it’s "run in"
