I had some warranty repair delays/challenges with one of my GT cars. PCNA offered to extend to factory warranty for 2 years, so I have 6 instead of 4, and am super grateful for the support.

manufacture is the one who pays or won’t pay the warranty bills…they have that specific language about not covering track issues for a reason .
Of course they have the language for a reason (because the lawyers demanded it in this litigious environment). How that legal protection is exercised is the more important aspect (to me). If you read Rennlist posts on this issue, there are very few instances over many years where a warranty claim was ultimately denied due to non-competitive track use (and in those cases, there tended to be an implication of unusual or abusive circumstances).

I agree with this. Unless omitted by the OP, it didn't sound like the dealer mentioned the second part...

Porsche will sell you a 6 or even 8-year factory or aftermarket

Keep good records, build goodwill with the service dept, all the usual stuff

Damage or wearable items are never part of warranty/prepaid service plan. You can buy separate coverage for some of that stuff these days

It is odd if you’ve bought cars recently these things are new to you….

Who’s Porsche? They don’t extend warranty for this car for more than 4 years. That’s it. Now there are loop holes or some dealers do that, I don’t know. That’s why I’m asking here.
it has nothing to do with if I had bought a car recently or not. The dealer told me that you can have extended warranty on other models of Porsche for even up to 10 years but NOT for this car. Now what’s your argument?

Can you elaborate what the issue was?

It is very uncommon for a warranty claim to be denied for track use, unless there was extraordinary abuse or some other extenuating circumstances that make the claim unreasonable.

There is a fair amount of discretion on the part of the dealer and you don’t want a dealer that is telling you they’ll refuse a claim upfront.
Yes, many GT4 transmissions that died on track were replaced under warranty, for example.

1. GT4 trans has ISSUE, I had the first broken one. I opted no warranty bought a new box so I can tear down the old one. yours failed for same reason thus subsequently a large # of GT4 had box replaced / recalled.
2. dealer can push for good will and PAG PCNA sometimes will listen. it really is case by case, how old the car is may not matter.

not sure about porsche extended warranty that can be purchased when car is new.

in general porsche will cover issues that occur while tracking, ei trans/motor problems, during the 4 year warranty period as long as you don’t alter the car, so just leave it stock if you are worried and it will be fine. You can put on different consumables like non OEM rotors and pads, just don’t touch anything to do with the motor and you will be fine. I used to swap exhausts, but after being pulled from tracks for exceeding sound limits I stopped playing that game. I had some issues with my 991.2 RS and Porsche covered them without a question. So leave the car as is and enjoy it, silly to have one if can’t enjoy it as intended by Porsche
