992.2 > 992.1 so much sadness for .1 owners coming

well… not exactly. My point was the 992.2 GT3 will be a much more expensive car than prior GT3s, it’s no longer ‘hitting above its weight’. It’s hitting at its weight.
and the S/T, if you take away the plaque, it’s also expensive relative to GT3s just a couple years ago. Heck, it’s not even that rare. The 991.2 Touring and the S/T are probably around the same production numbers.

There will be 500-600 S/T's in the US. I'll bet there are 3x more 991.2 Tourings than that here. And why does the production volume matter in this discussion? Same thing as adding value for the plaque

At MSRP and without the plaque, it won't be expensive when you compare it to the 992.2 GT3, which will likely have 20-50% of the S/T's "kit"

so yes, the st and the 992.2 gt3 are expensive when comparing them to all prior GT cars

huh? lol… there’s only 714 US spec tourings for 991.2. That’s my point… people pay $$$ for the plaque, not the ‘kit’. There’s certainly not $100k+ worth of kit on the ST vs normal touring.

Mag wheels, carbon roof/doors/fenders, bespoke clutch and flywheel, gearing, bespoke shifter, bespoke tuning of the suspension (the hours of R&D spent to make this a more suitable road car), special interior, etc....that's worth $75k+ on paper, off paper a lot more to some when you combine all those elements, the non-tangibles often make the experience of car, like the R. Many don't care about any of those items, the S/T isn't for them
I'm sure my $338k S/T is going to be a nice bargain compared to the $300k 992.2 GT3's that are coming

I don't track production volume because it does not matter to me. Seems you are dialed in there! You assume everyone buying an S/T is paying for the plaque? Many are, many don't give a sh*t, like me. It's the easy put down of the S/T for those that won't get the car or don't want the car. Trying to crap on the premium or crap on the rarity (or lack thereof). It's going to be the best driving 992 they make. Some are willing to pay for that, some won't.

btw, why make a 992.2 GT3 thread about you and your ST? don't we have enough of the S/T crowd defending their babies?

This was actually a discussion until you had no rebuttal, then had to make it personal.
Is the 992.2 GT3 not related to the S/T? It is

Ouch, Porsche never makes a new model to be worst than the previous one. .2 > .1

The .2GT3 will have some of the ST goodies and the increase in MSRP will definitely reflect that. Would I have traded in my .1Touring for a ST at MSRP? Duh of course because it's better and has cool stuff but when you are talking about $200k or more over sticker then it does not compute for me because $500k+ buys other "more fun" cars. Will I trade in .1Touring for a NA .2Touring even if it's $50k more? Definitely because it'll be newer and have some fun new goodies plus I get a chance get a new fun PTS color.

What I was told is the suspension on both the .2 wing and touring cars will be updated. Power update as well and optional “track” pack on the wing cars. Neither will have the doors, roof, fenders or shifter. The new aero is pretty trick.

Latest I know is that EU will be PDK only, manual is still in play for North America. I would not be surprised if there will be two distinct cars between the EU and NA.
