I think emissions and Euro7 are what might bring a new engine to the 992.2. In 2020 Walliser said:
...new regulations will put a limit on relative power per liter of displacement... we will see bigger displacements coming back again
It was in the year of the 718 GTS 4.0 launch. He totally ruled out a NA engine for the 911, but who knows?

To back the whole Euro7 - bigger displacement theme, the upcoming facelift Cayenne S will ditch the V6 and have a V8 once again. Who would have thought that in the era of EV's, a mid-trim Cayenne would get a meaty V8 again? So for this matter a bigger engine in a 992.2 might just happen.

Porsche makes lots of cheap things
Porsche prices are never cheap

This. I'm willing to bet the entry hybrid Carrera is reasonable. And by reasonable"ish" I mean south of 140k. But I'm thinking the first hybrid they show is a top dog turbo s trim north of 240

(Also how far from reality have we come where we use words like reasonable applies to vehicles in the six digit range)

Having owned one, it’s just not that special an engine. It’s okay, but not terribly torquey, no real character to it, and doesn’t sound great. Loved my GT4, but the motor wasn’t the star of the show. The 3.8L in my old 991 C2S had more character.

Yes, that's exactly what I mean.

Nothing Porsche makes is priced cheap, though many of the products may be cheaply made.

Although to be honest, as I am sitting here typing this, I am finding it hard to come up with a good example of a cheaply made Porsche OEM product.

I see what you are saying, but those are poorly designed parts, maybe even "defective".

I'm talking something that is of cheap quality, but designed perfectly fine.

For example, on early Escalades, the HVAC controls were lifted directly from the Equinox. That's a cheaply made product even for an econo box like the Equinox, but even more so on a 150k SUV like the Escalade.

Ok how about the 997 HVAC switches, or the PCM 2 rubber dials? Those were less hardy than anything GM made in the 1980s lol
