Hey Guys! Went to start my 992 GT3 earlier and the battery was dead. I got running, however, I have a CEL. I suspect its related to the battery. Supposed to go on a drive in the morning. Does the CEL present a risk? I know its emissions related bur wasn’t sure if there could be a more serious issue. The light is not flashing and no messages. Everything else is in order.

there’s a lot of posts on the 992 forum about lithium battery problems.
If it sat 3 to 4 weeks there is probably too much parasitic draw to keep the battery charged..
Best to just keep it on a battery maintainer when you’re not driving it.
The reality is they have a too small of a battery in the car ,60AH with a lot of parasitic draw my M2 has a 90.

A car left that long unlocked will have more parasitic draw than one left locked. Just FYI for future reference.

loss of battery power often causes cel but it usually goes away on its own. Sometimes it may stay and need to be cleared via code reader. On a rare occasion, it may be a little more involved - the CEL may be a result of calibration loss in one of the electronic components. If that's the case, there is usually an extended error message (e.g., RWS fault or ESC fault) and you need to perform some actions to clear it. It's usually something simple like turning the steering wheel all the way one way and all the way the other way or driving in a straight line for 100 meters. THere may be other calibration losses that do not cause cell - if your seat stops going back when turning off the engine, the seat position calibration is lost, and if windows do not go all the way up or down on one touch, window position calibration is lost, but neither would cause cel (either is fixed by moving seat/window all the way one way and the other way).
