That's smart? Protesting the one car company that is actually working on clean burning fuels. They need to be protesting cargo ships, and airlines, where little to no change is happening...though some airlines are switching to clean burning fuels.

i guess they forgot their tomato soup. these people crack me up. like we should/could just stop using vehicles, and air travel, and container ships, and over the road trucks, and so on immediately. WTF?
i do like the idea of gluing their loose hand to the car also and simply leaving them there.

If roads were literally melting during the Tour De France, where they protested, to the point where tour organizers wanted to use water trucks to cool the roads to keep riders safe, I'm thinking these people may have some valid concerns. While Im partial to a G36, maybe picking off people who are pushing for a habitable planet may not be a good move. 70F-80F in January in the northeast shouldn't be welcomed. Just saying.

If any company should be protested, it’s VW with their emissions cheating scandal. If you don’t know what happened, they manipulated their software and emissions systems to follow regulations when strapped to a dyno and wheels were straight. But on road, they polluted like coal trains.
And they just got busted again a few years ago, there’s a class action payout for lying about MPGs, including Porsches.

Extremists don't care about nuance. You think they are going to spare Porsche? In this Great Leap Forward to create Utopia and control the weather, collateral damage doesn't matter. Hopefully Europe won't freeze this Winter. Maybe more people should be concerned about that. Human Beings rather than hypothesis and theories. I'm still trying to determine the role carbon played in the climate change that cause the Dinosaurs to become extinct.
Sensible measured progress towards a renewable energy future does not look like that.

It's not about "stop using" commercial transport, but mandating it be run cleaner. If cars can be made to run particulate filters, why not ships, or factory smoke stacks? Especially given the amount of polution gemerated by one boat trip, compared to annual output of multiple cars.

Just an FYI.....
Starting Jan 1st, 2020 the International Maritime Organization required that all fuels used in ships contain no more than 0.5 sulfur.
The cap is a significant reduction from the pre-existing sulfur limit of 3.5% and is well below the industry average of 2.7% sulfur content.
Public health experts estimate that once the 2020 sulfur cap takes effect, it would prevent roughly 150,000 premature deaths and 7.6 million childhood asthma cases globally each year.
