Just sharing an “event” I had on track yesterday. It appears I hit something but not sure what. Maybe tire rubber or some stones, but the car yawed heavy at 90+.
But when you are at or near the limit, things can happen fast. Good to spend time training for events like this.
Btw, the video doesn’t really convey how quick and far the car yawed - but my hands sure show it…
Wanted to share to show that not everything is a perfect lap!
(Btw, not sure why the vbox data isn’t working)

Just a thought, unless you just lost it because of too fast entry….but I have noticed with my non-stock wheel set up (you know what I mean) that some times if leaving the Nannies on they intervene at odd times. Could it have sensed something and caused an issue? Just a thought

You’re not wrong but until HPDE organizers drop the archaic windows down rules so we can run windows up and AC on it’s the lesser of two evils IMHO if you plan to drive any track in TX between early May to late October. I’ve come too close to a heat stroke induced black out, mid session, while wearing long sleeves and pants per local track rules on a 105 air temp day at MSR Cresson to ever take that chance again.

I've worked corners a ton,, pulled enough folks out of cars that are on fire that I never go on track without a full Suit.
If your too hot, hydrate and use a cooler.. (I've run a 12 hour enduro in 105-110 heat.. ) Car temps over 120 inside...

From what I’m seeing, the throttle was settled at this point to carry 91 which was holding until it broke loose. At this point I’m looking at the opportunity to gradually add throttle before doing a brief light lift to turn the car as I would approach T18.
The only lift I see is after it broke loose. The video doesn’t really capture how early and aggressive it was. A couple of people believe they can hear me hit something (chunk of tire) or ran over some fluid.
Either way, you always need to be as prepared as possible for the unexpected.
