Installed the Akrapovic slip on exhaust over the weekend. In addition to installing the exhaust I also removed the OPF filter material out of the headers for sound. Having owned many different vehicles and installing many exhaust systems, I have to say it really hard to beat the quality of Akrapovic systems. They truly look and feel as close to OEM as possible. The fitment, the fit and finish, and the packaging are all top notch. I didnt end up using the tips that came with the exhaust. Instead I installed some 4 inch double walled exhaust tips that I had custom made. I purchased some doubled walled 4 inch stainless exhaust tips and a set 997 GT3 exhaust tips so I could use the OEM flange. Had the tips cut and welded to the right length, then had them ceramic coated black. Very happy with the turn out of the exhaust tips.
Feedback on the exhaust, have to be honest its not a huge difference over stock. Yes it is louder but only really noticeable at 7-9k RPM. Surprisingly the exhaust is actually quieter at highway speeds. Much less drone and resonance in the cabin compared to stock which I actually prefer. With the Akrapovic exhaust, there is a significant difference in tone with exhaust valves open vs closed which is nice. Its pretty subtle with valves closed and comes alive with valves open.

Sound and power might be mostly from OPF removal. Akra isn't really known for either of these in spades. My Touring is at shop deleting OPF and doing GMG center. Should have car back on Thursday.
