In or about May or June of 2021 I was able to secure an allocation to the new 992 GT3. This was quite the process to even find an allocation as a first time buyer, i must of called dozens of dealerships and got lots NOs, almost gave up. I don't want to go into details about ADM's because you guys can go on forever on that topic 😆 and theres clearly enough threads on that already. Yes, as a first time buyer I did pay an ADM, but lets just say it was closer to MSRP than the highest ADMs we see today. I feel like I got a bargain! I have never owned any car of this caliber before, my first sports car that I ever bought and still own is a 2019 Shelby GT350R, that I track often. I also come from a back ground of tracking 600cc motorcycles and had my fair share of wheel to wheel race weekends. I came into the GT3 with the primary focus on its going to be a fun weekend car and mainly to track it.

So far this year I have done about 14 track days, only 6 of them have been in the GT3 and I have some more events coming up. I am enjoying this car so much. Coming from tracking motorcycles, I never felt that there was a whole lot of cars out there that could give me what I was looking for when it came to tracking a car. But I have to say the GT3 is the business, and now I can't imagine not having a GT3 in my garage.

The first day I picked it up, it went straight to the PPF shop for a full PFF, then it immediately went down to BBI Autosport for a roll bar and harnesses to be installed (at this point I haven't even had a chance to drive the car yet).

Since its not a daily, I am not racking up miles fast or any thing and I trailer my car to track events. i have put on about 3600 miles and 6 track events. I've got 4 laguna trackdays coming up soon.

I would of got more trackdays in prior but I was waiting on the AP racing brake kit to replace the PCCBs, so i just tracked my GT350r. The AP kit was backordered since February. The brakes were not as great as I expected but still usable on track. Recently for my last two trackdays I changed the pads to the pagid RSC 1s and i noticed a huge difference. The AP racing brake kit finally came in recently and that will be going on soon. Only other thing I have done is an alignment at Wrtecknica and the car is feeling very well dialed in for my pace.

A few key specs I added were the bucket seats, PCCBs, and its a manual. Honestly, as much as I love the manual.... some times I wish I did go with the PDK due to all the track use that I will be putting on, I can't say for sure i would of preferred PDK since I've never driven any porsche PDK prior. It just seems like one less thing to worry about as a driver on track. But hey, first world problems right?

Overall, I am completely satisfied with the driving experience. And look forward to many more trackdays and improving on this car as a driver.

Thanks for thoughts. You’re putting the car to good use.

interested to hear your thoughts comparing the AP setup to simply changing the pads in the OEM setup.

Will do, primary reason on the decision to go with the AP setup was eventually I may put on 19s to open up different tire choices.
